fatyeti24
1994 was a very good year for me musically. Ill Communication, FSOL-ISDN, early Chemical Brothers, early Oasis, Music for the Jilted Generation, Snivilisation, and my first trip to Glastonbury. I don't think any other year had had such a lasting impact on my listening habits. I turned from the obligatory teenage heavy metal phase intro a raver! Funny enough they've got No Good on at the moment! I was still in the musical wilderness in '94. Think my turning point was a couple of years later when a guy joined our 6th form and introduced me to Levellers, Offspring, RATM, Carter USM and other such wondrous nonsense. Think that's also when my brother got me REM's Best Of from the IRS years.
lucyginger
In 1994 I was at college, it was all Pearl Jam, Morrissey, Alice in Chains, Tori Amos' Under the Pink, OH GOD and Portishead! I had to google 1994 albums and they're all pretty much brilliant. I think the early/mid 90's was my favourite time for music. But then I was 16, and they say that you remember those years most. Or something like that. Got the dizzies again so a bit woowah!

Not being a huge fan of the mainly manufactured pop that seemed to litter the 80's years it was like a breath of fresh air to my ears. Or something... I do love a bit of 80s pop (and everything else 80s really), but yeah the 90's were cracking. We had grunge! I love grunge!
Skoo
Guys I'm so excited! For my birthday I've booked myself a little trip to the farm, to stay in an Airbnb that's actually on the festival site itself (one of the other land owners), for 3 whole days! Never visited when the festival isn't on, so really excited to go and wander round, stand under the pyramid stage if I'm allowed to, and also visit Glastonbury town! Taking my dog too, so even he will get to say he's been to Glastonbury (if he could talk that is). Any of you guys visited the site? How does it work, can I just wander up there, or best to check in at Worthy Farm first?? Not going til end of May, and will take loads of pics! Quark
That's an outstanding collection Yeti, properly impressed there. I loved Dub War!
Skoo
I've just had a thought, not going til end of May. It might be a bit too close to the festival and they might not let me have a walk round if the build has really got started

Pretty sure the fence will either be completed or nearly completed by then

By then there'll be a fair bit going on, so they'll be able to tell you how much of the site might be accessible. You could also ask @deebeedoobee, @pilton digger and @Mr Splodge, as they live in Pilton.
Skoo
Thanks @mr gumby I will do that. How exciting though. I've looked on this airbnb's calendar for the festival dates itself, and they charge £1400 per night when the festival is on. Madness. We stayed in a tiny B&B in Glastonbury town and visited the Abbey, the Tor, the chalice well etc, then on Easter Sunday we wandered the farm all day, we ate Easter bunnies and drank tins of desparado's sitting on an empty pyramid stage singing bright eyes. We played in the kids field on the swing/slide thing ,wandered up to the stone circl and generally had a great great great time - I'd love to go back
