Made me laugh too!!! oh please do bring whatever you like to the meet! one year, Dee made brownies and MY GOODNESS they were lovely!!!

I'm still hungry. I have eaten some sugar free polos. Woop.

Polos eh?  Nestle were doing some research into what people who ate Polos were really thinking about eating, and what subliminal messages were given off.  They produced a plain picture of polos but if you were hungry for something else, you'd see that in the background. Can't see anything myself, mind.

Yep, big team effort here in WY.  Puts me right off the idea of starting to cycle to work. Chuff.

Sunshine, baked products, music, a field in Somerset would be better.  Any chance of a mille feuille NG?

Oh holy crap and all that's good in the world. I seriously keep reading about alcohol infusions and cake bringing and totally keep forgetting i can join in now that firstly i live in the UK and secondly that I'm not on the coach this year.

Yeah babeeee. Getting my bake on. Or i will when we eventually get a kitchen.

@naughtygeorgie Hope your bro is OK. What is wrong with the world I ask you. My Dad just called me to make sure I am OK, terrible seeing this stuff on the news.

On cheerier topics, such as cakes and the like, I'm trying to think whether being on the coach this year, I could bring something tasty to the meet. I do some nice chocolate truffles that are very very rich, but would probably be soggy due to the blazing sunshine.

Maybe I could do some nice biscuits. Ooooh, or something savoury!!! Like cheese twists.... **drools**

I'm off to Lanzarote in a few days for lots of loverly sunnn!

Ooh nice. I've been pining for a bit of warm weather. I'm off to Italy next week in the hope of catching the magical time of the year where you can snowboard in warm weather, just before all the snow melts.

It's been a long, dark winter up here in Cumbria.

@naughtygeorgie Glad bro is safe and sound! I'm not in London today, but I am a couple of times a week for meetings and the like so my Dad had a little panic.

@carlosj Your mille feuille suggestion, whilst admirable, is also quite insane. Those delicate crisp layers aren't going to withstand the beating they would get in someone's backpack. However they are one of my favourite desserts. I'd never have the skillz to make them myself thought - I'm very much a baker of an extremely low level.

Pasta however. That's my forte. I whip up a variety of pasta sauces to the delight of Mr Skoo, and to the detriment of my thighs.

I even said it in my head as I typed!

It's a daily occurrence now is professional kitchens, everyone is always on about soggy bottoms!

Would you please take me under your wing and teach me about pastry? Oh and bread. I would love to be able to make proper bread. Its just so hit and miss. Have made some amazing dinner rolls and cheese and herb bread but its not consistent.

I can try...bread is all in the kneading, knead as much as possible a mixer can't do it as well as a pair of hands (stop it boys,  just stop it!)

Pastry is the total opposite, handle as little as possible, with cold hand, cold environment, cold ingredients.

And you have to add the love, which sounds hippy and ludicrous but you can taste the difference of a dish that's made by a happy cook.

Plus my old Grans rolling pin, anything that I make using that tastes the best!

Oh I know the love bit. I used to have a side line cake business but bread eluded me. Can make sweet shortcrust but mainly make it in the blitzer now cos crumbling breadcrumbs gives me hand cramp.

Can't wait to have a kitchen again. I need lemon meringue pie in my life.

But learning filo and puff would be amezzin.

Ol sausage fingers is leaving me and the dogs all on our lonesome. :(

I really wish I was nearer! Actually, I wish there was some way I could travel to you quickly and cheaply so I could come and visit. Like teleporting. That sort of thing! Then I could just pop up for the weekend and be back for work Monday!

All this talk of pastry is making me hungry. I love baking, and all cooking really! Need to master bread as well, but can't really be bothered with yeast and all that!!! Too lazy!
