Evening all :)

It seems it's deluge night here in Somerset. It's been pretty decent most of the day, but about an hour ago it started hammering down. That's it, weather gods, get it out the way now!

In musical news, there were so many (unrealistic) mentions of a certain band on the 'big sectet' thread earlier, that I felt compelled to give them a spin tonight.

This Gumby is one of my all time favourite songs, never fails to make me cry, thank you first posting such a beautiful version :)

It's gorgeous, isn't it? One of my earliest musical memories from childhood, along with tubular bells and goodbye yellow brick road.

Me too. It's so nerve wracking but I am determined to get them!

Last year I got mine in the secret sale, and I had actual chest pains for a couple of hours after the event because the whole thing was so stressful! I couldn't believe I'd actually done it, hands were shaking!

It can be done, but yes you do need the alerts to come through instantly ideally.

An extra pink button for tickets will appear on the main page, so I'd say refresh that page most.  When it changes try the booking page and see if it works.  If it doesn't you can still go in via the button on the main page. There's very unlikely to be a holding page.  Last year I didn't think to keep the old booking page  running as I thought they'd use a different link, but apparently people got through on it.  I'll forward any alerts I get, provided I'm able to use my phone.  It adds so much stress to driving, being constantly on the lookout for places I can stop in case I get a page alert!

Oh my dear God I've just given myself a heart attack!! I have the adrenaline shakes and everything! Clicked proceed on one page then clicked on the other page and thought I'd pressed refresh but pressed photo registration instead! The page changed and I shit myself. Took a good few seconds to realise what it was. I fucking hate ticket sales... especially when they're not on. For 2019 can we all get tickets in the main sale please? I can't take the stress haha

Hi all. My neck is sore after refreshing a screen since 1pm. Can I turn it off now? It's not gonna happen now is it? I need a break! What time has it been in the last few years? I think I read somewhere 2:45pm?

Evening lovelies! I hope you e all had a good day and are looking forward to the weekend. Oh dear, I really don't want to be causing anybody health issues trying for tickets!:(  It sounds like it's taking over! I hate having to leave it all to you lot while I'm sleeping. I really hope it happens tomorrow morning and we can all get it over with. On a positive note, I received 2 pm's yesterday for people who had been following my ticket plight and offering to help. If I'm not there this year it certainly won't be down to a lack of effort! Thank you all once again for all your help!:)

Im up and about once again ready to start another long night shift and hopefully catch up on the resale and the big secret threads. These boards were bloody busy yesterday!

Really happy for you Yog and hope it all goes through nicely from here on.

But please don't become a property magnate, its hard enough for people my age to get anywhere near buying a house these days, then you see these people that own tons of houses and are making a truckload off of people that will never be able to get a foot on the ladder.

(I obviously know that this isn't what you mean, and that you aren't that sort of person. I just wanted to vent my frustrations with the housing market for my generation).

Hello mjsell,

If I was going to become a property magnate I would have (and could have) done it years ago. When I say I've done up houses for profit, I've done it the hard way - that is by having a normal job and then working every night after every day at work, every weekend, every holiday off my normal job. My first house took me 2 years of that, my second took me 4 years of that, and my present house took me 3 years of that. Essentially, I sacrificed my limited time on this planet spending time doing up these houses. Believe me, it was real real hard graft - and on two occasions a stroke of luck. I'm not trying to defend myself, I'm just saying that it was nowhere near easy. In terms of selling them for profit, I never put a gun against anybody's head and said that you have to pay £x amount to buy it. What I did was put it on for £x and hope that somebody would see the property, see the amount of work that had gone in to refurbishing it (and by that I don't mean just re-decorating it), and bought it off me.

Bottom line is capitalism sucks, on a huge scale. It's a very shitty system and I would love that it wasn't the case. But it is. In my real job I worked for a housing charity for just under 25 years. When I started it was philanthropic, then slowly, ever so slowly, it turned in to a huge conglomerate, and became almost fascistic towards it's tenants - the true owners of the organisation. While I was at the bottom, saving them (over the course of my time there) possibly millions of pounds, the people at the top were fucking it away. In the end I got so disheartened with it, I organized my own redundancy from the place. Had I been a bad person i could have robbed them of millions, and there's no forensic accountants in the land that could have detected it. I chose not to, because, as you say, I'm not that sort of person.

If I can offer you any advice in terms of purchasing a house it would be to buy a shit house on a good road, and not a good house on a shit road. Do the shit house up, take the pain, and you'll get a result. If you can't do it on your own, consider partnering with a friend or even a stranger in getting a mortgage together. From small acorns great oak trees will grow.

I sincerely wish you the best mjsell. If you ever want any further advice in this area, and I am able to help, then just PM me, and I'll try my best to help you. As an aside, one of my friends sisters is an expert in getting people mortgages who possibly shouldn't be getting mortgages. I could always have a word with him if you need that kind of help. I have no idea whether he would say yes or no to the request, but if you don't ask you don't get. A horrible expression, but a true one.

That's all part and parcel of being in the nfr crew. Fret not, we'll get you there if we possibly can. In a way, having you awake and alert at a different time to most of us, increases the chance of success :)

MJ I may have moaned a little bit but I certainly didn't mean to make you feel bad. I'd be so fricking happy if I was the one that got you tickets and as I work so much, today and tomorrow are my only hopes. Of course I'll be over the fecking moon whoever gets you them but knowing I've tried makes me feel better.

I don't expect any to go on sale over night but I still spend half the night refreshing pages just in case there's a glitch! You never know. I stay awake until around 2pm uk time but unfortunately have to sleep before that 3pm window that t has been for the last couple of years. Im sure we have enough people covering though!:)ahh no I

Ahh, I know you didn't Cg and I maybe worded it a bit funny. I was trying to rush a message out before I had to go out and start work as I knew I'd be pretty busy for the first couple of hours. What I meant was that I don't want it taking over people's lives for the next few days although I know it kind of does!:) we h e a fairly sizeable team helping out so if folks are busy/driving etc then I'm sure there is enough back up to make it!:)

Whether tickets are for ourselves or each other, we all try our hardest to get them and still get the flutters and shakes haha!! If we can get you there then by god we will x

This

We wouldn't be doing it if we didn't want to @Milky Joe,  and I'd really love to meet you on the farm in June.  When I got tickets for an efester I'd never met in last year's secret sale it was the best feeling. :)

Thanks Dizzy, last year another efester got me a ticket in the main resale and I was keen to repay the kindness in October when she was after a coach ticket. It seems to be just as stressful trying for somebody else as it is going for your own ticket. I actually managed to get through too but it got refused when I put the payment details in as they had got through themselves moments earlier. It would have been an amazing feeling to help somebody out by securing their tickets. For the record my spirits are high and I feel as though we have a better than average chance of scoring between us!:)

Just wanted to wish good luck to those on this thread that still need tickets.

I'd really like it if everyone here nailed it.

That would be good.

Good luck folks.

Good luck to you to Yog, it would be fantastic if everybody that needed one got through. Oh and excellent news on the house too. A bidding war indicates some serious commitment so it's unlikely to fall through but if it does hopefully you'll still have the other party to fall back on!:)

Morning All!  Luckily it's a Friday so I can get away with having my second monitor showing the ticket page for most of the day :)

Hoping it happens this morning as I'm in meetings all afternoon so not going to be able to do anything.  Fingers crossed!

Good morning all. Hope we're all looking forward to another weekend!:)

I'm pretty sure something is going to happen today Quark. This morning I got two alerts from Siblin's page monitor with changes to the main event page.

I'm not sure what changed as the links were still all the same but it's worth knowing that the alerts came through around 3am uk time. The same thing happened on Tuesday (cv's went on sale later that day) and Wednesday (tipis)

I'm hoping it's this morning too although after 10 would suit me as I don't finish work until then!

Christ I'm a grown man and I'm shitting myself over a festival ticket. This sort of thing would put the average person in therapy!

Speaking of Leftfield, this morning's listening is the remaster release of Leftism.  And it still sounds fantastic.

Wonder if that could be the secret announcement? Seems as likely as anything in these days of miracle and wonder!
