Yog I'm sorry to hear that xxx

I do accounts, I might be able to help? I dont do tax returns but I used to in my old job, that was years ago but if you like, email me. I'll PM you my address.

Benny, hello! Yes I know what you mean but I think it will be brilliant fun!!!!

I fill in a self-assessment since I'm a freelancer.  So I can help too if you need a second opinion about anything.  Although admittedly, I get my accountant to sort it all out for me.  So I wouldn't be a great deal of use, but I do help Mrs 2 hats with her self assessment.

Nice one stuartbert. I may fire a few questions in your and lucy's direction in the near future. Your offer of assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi all sorry not been around much, lots going on.  @Yoghurt on a Stick sorry you're having such a shit time, though you seem amazingly chill about it all.  Even about the lad masturbating on your sofa!  You and your wife seem ideally suited to running a drop in centre for people with all sorts of problems (ie what you already do) but being paid some proper money as you undoubtedly provide a valuable service.  Re tax return, I have to fill in one every year for my private counselling practice, but it's only the short one as I earn so little.  The deadline for paper returns is 31st Oct,  but if you do it online you have til 31st Jan next year (make sure you get your account set up in plenty of time though, as the site crashes near the deadline because everyone leaves it til the last minute).  I really hope things get better for you soon Yog.

Loved the drunken 'I really really love you guys'  post  @Quark! As those who saw my inept attempt to post (12 times?!) on the NFR fb group know, I can't even manage to do these things properly when I'm sober. Hope you feel better soon HMV (sorry highlight stopped working)

Weird T day dream @sheffieldlady - if Michael Eavis could be bothered to come to your house the very least he could do is bring you tickets!  Glad you got Roses tickets @lucyginger, enjoy.  Hope everyone is managing to keep T day anxiety down to tolerable levels.

@bennyhana22 how are you coping with child#1 at uni?  Mine went on Sunday, and the next day when I saw his empty bedroom my heart gave a lurch.  He's stayed in touch though (mainly for advice on cooking), and today rang up for a chat which was unexpected.  Youngest has begun his second year of online home tuition, which is going ok except he just won't do any extra work.  If  he continues like this he'll get C's and D's rather than the A's being predicted this time last year.  His problem isn't so much laziness as an inability to organise himself (we're still waiting for ADHD assessment).  After all the repeated sentiments from the school that they'd love to have him back for 6th form,  this week we found out he won't be able to return for A levels without B's in the subjects he wants to study and C in English (which he hates).  He won't be allowed to retake any GCSEs in 6th form, unlike in previous years, and we've been told there are no exceptions.  Have meeting with head of 6th form in a few weeks and am preparing to point out that the school is largely responsible for him missing a term of education in Year 10, so have made it much harder for him to get the grades they demand. It's a year to the day since he stopped going to school.  It would be nice not to have to keep fighting.

Thanks for your best wishes dizzymoo. And for the information about tax returns. That was very helpful as I thought that I had to fill in the paper form within the next two or three days. Relief isn't the word.

Sorry to hear of the problems you are having with the education system. I quite enjoy battles with organisations, governing bodies etc but now realise it's because I'm not gambling with the education of a son for example. That's a huge responsibility. I'd love to be able to wish you some time off from it, but can't. Instead I'll say 'Stay in the ring, you're doing great'. Best wishes.

Surely an entirely self-inflicted injury Gumby - were you expecting it to be anything other than painful?!

If it was my choice of viewing I would agree, but mrs gumby's the Strictly fan around here, not me. I was just eating my dinner, so I couldn't avoid it!

Hi all. It's Thursday on Thursday. That's only 4 sleeps and I'll know if I have tickets.

Yog you truly have had a horrible time of it lately. I think what seems like a good coping mechanism is simply you throwing your hands up in the air sand saying 'bring it on!'  I don't think things can get much worse for you and the lovely Mrs Yog. I hope the shop is still up and running and you get back to normal soon.
