Hello to all! Having managed to secure tickets in the main sale for the first time in years, instead of having to wait for the resale, I will be balls deep into the discussions on this forum far earlier than before. For once, I will know all the cool in jokes!

Welcome Skoo. You'll be well versed in all come the meet on the farm. Just one important question, what is your stance on Gin and more importantly flavoured Gin? This is make or break time. :D

Gin is my main tipple. I have developed a decent tolerance, so it's the one thing I can drink that doesn't completely destroy me! I like cucumber gin, basically Hendricks, but DIY.

Oh my. Correct answer and welcome welcome welcome. The meet will be even more gin soaked than usual. You have to try the different arrays of Sloe Gin. @deebeedoobee brings the most lucious sloe gin made from sloes collected on the farm.

Also talk nicely to Mr Gumpy, give him the occasional tickle and try to convince him to bring his mead again.

Not that you enjoy gin or anything

Not sure about mead next year, it depends how long other drinks take. At the moment, I've got 2 gallon jars full of sloe gin on the go, and all the others are full of port. If they're ready for bottling in time, I might be able to do mead again, we'll see.

Welcome to the thread Skoo, and congratulations on getting tickets.:)

I do like the sound of cucumber gin although cucumbers repeat on me terribly. Sloe gin is a wonderful invention though!

good news for my local festival yesterday, Kendal Calling has been nominated for best medium festival, best family festival and bizarrely, best toilets! Not sure what these awards actually mean but nice for the festival anyways.

I honestly don't know whether to be proud or ashamed Scruff.  I think proud is winning.

Oh hell yes.  After missing out this year due to travel chaos and being obliged to meet the friends I was going with (no such obligations this year!) there is no way I'm missing it next year, especially as so many of us have tickets.  Was gutted I missed this year's so I'm hugely looking forward to it :)

A good objective I feel.

I'll probably already be pissed, as I have to meet the lovely people who got our tickets around midday. I shall endeavour to still be capable of speech, though :)

Oh I'm sure we'll all be really rather merry by 4pm Thursday!

I'm determined to try and meet some efesters this time around. I'm especially intrigued to meet you Lucy, you seem a girl after my own heart!

My reputation precedes me again, I see! Be lovely to meet you too, Skoo :)

Do you fall over your own wheelbarrow and wear a furry coat as well Skoo? :)

Oi! It was my friends wheelbarrow! The coat will make a comeback though!

I'll get the pineapple gin on the go again. Maybe strawberry gin too.

I was debating blueberry as I was making my breakfast this morning.

Just to clarify, I had blueberries for breakfast.  Not gin.

Wednesdays are whisky...

Oooh, strawberry gin sounds lovely.

It really is!! You can't get tonic on site for love nor money, so flavoured gin is the way forward! Strawberry gin goes really nicely with lemonade. Or just on it's own! Fresh, local strawberries chopped up and soaked for a few days in gin, then strain it, if you're brave eat the fruit (it's quite a challenge though!) and then drink the gin! Super!

I always go to the avalon Inn and get a tonic and ice. Then pop my gin in. Granted they normally run out by Sunday.

Is that lall?  I'd assumed it would be more like the time taken for a sloe gin.  Will have to experiment a bit!

Got round to the new Skinny Lister album this morning @louise2014 and @sheffieldlady, cracker if you've not already heard it!

Yeah, but the problem with flavoured gin is that it still tastes of gin.

HMV, you're a genius!!!

Quark, soft fruits don't take long at all, I usually do the strawberry one about a week before, to allow time for straining too because I always seem to be rushing that last minute! The pineapple one I made for last year took ages. I need to get one on the go now for Crimbo in fact.

If we all bring gin concoctions, it'll be a great party! :) It will anyway, but you know...
