Been a while since we've popped any tunes up on here. So to accompany the cooking of tonight's tomato and kale frittata with celeriac chips, and in anticipation of opening up the tent flaps to perfect mornings every day next year, here are The Beloved :sungum:

Thought I'd take over the wheels of steel and post this (which is playing loudly in the house at the moment);

I'd just like to mention that HMV has promised to dress up as an orang-utan if I bring mead along in June. You are all witnesses to this!

Dunno why its double quoting but as I said you let me know when you're a brewing and I'll start looking for my outfit. Its bound to be a scorcher if I've promised to wear an orangutan outfit. :D

Sacrifices!

Nice result. Very decent of the Head of Outreach Education to go further than possibly was his/ her remit (I don't know, did he/she?). Or was it a case of you had them in a Vulcan nerve pinch, rendering them incapable of keeping strictly to policy? Either way, at least you won that battle. Nice one.

No Vulcan nerve pinch, though if needed I was going to use any means necessary!  Head of Outreach is amazing,  and regularly goes way beyond the call to help.  She's also very knowledgeable about the law; very handy when schools (though to be fair, not my son's school) try to cut corners and get rid of 'inconvenient' students with special needs who might bring grade/attendance averages down.

Thought that might have been the case. I met someone yesterday who has gone out of her way to help my wife's fledging business. She had printed us off colour flyers for the business after hours at her workplace at no cost (obviously there was a paltry cost to her employers). She barely knows us but is, by the looks of things, guilty of looking out for the underdogs. A very nice person. Now I've got to spread those flyers about the place. Looking forward to doing so. Really happy to hear that your latest battle with the education system was a result. :)

Thanks Yog, and good to see something positive happening for you and Mrs Yog after your recent travails. Your shop seems to act as a portal for good human beings!

Thank you for the welcomes.  I agree entirely with the weather ethos of this thread - and am always greatly attracted by gin  :wub:

Good tunes too , I waved to myself in the Scissor Sisters 2010 crowd :D

Hope the school thing goes positively @dizzymoo - it sounds like you've come across a really positive supportive teacher. (How on earth can a school have a no English GCSE resits in the 6th form policy ??!! Grrr.)

Fingers crossed as it is all quiet here right now on the educational front, this year big is doing his PGCE and small her GCSEs.  Although I expect there will be trauma here of some sort at some stage before July.

Oh and today's foot update is that it still has gloss on it ...

Morning all, looking a bit Manchester this morning but at least I'm working (loosest possible sense) from home :)

I don't know which I'm looking forward to more, meeting HMV dressed as an orangutan or Gumby's mead.  They both sound pretty wonderful in their own ways.

I would also like to point out that it's officially Finbarr Friday so watch yourselves!  Anyone leaving themselves open needs to go away and have a long hard think about things...
