Best pumpkin ever.

Thanks Funkyfairy.

I'm recalling that night at the restaurant now. Quite an odd night really. My girlfriend at the time was habitually unfaithful to me, and even used to tell me about every incident and seemed to relish in telling me to deal with it. So, anyway, I'd taken on board a fair bit of red wine at the restaurant and thought to myself I'll see what her reaction is if I tell her that I had been unfaithful (which I hadn't). So, I told her. Her reaction was rather akin to a military shock and awe campaign. After she had finished shouting abuse at me in the full restaurant she stormed off. I just sat there ignoring the other diners and finished off my meal and the rest of the red wine.

i made a 'healthy' pumpkin pie this afternoon, crust is nuts, coconut oil and maple syrup. Filling is pumpkin , eggs, non dairy milk, coconut sugar and spices.

Does it count as one of my 5 a day .. Probably laden with calories with the nut based crust , but no dairy, gluten or refined sugars ... Surely that's goodish ?  Maybe ?

Definitely counts as one of your 5 a day.  Pumpkin is still a fruit, however many calories you add!

We really need to drink together next year Yog. You have a never ending supply of tales!

Not so much for Glastonbury, but with @carlosj and @trevethin on the fitness drive. Saw a photo of me from a few years back when the rugby club did a charity calendar, and things have definitely headed a wee bit south since then!

sounds like a winner to me FF!

So the family lunch went really well! No big questions, no demanding to know what's happened, just a good lunch and a few beers. Genuinely surprised!

Anyway. New week tomorrow. Happy Sunday evening all :)

Please tell me you finished with her then Yog.  Sounds like a right piece of work.

Hello Quark. Hopefully we'll meet up at the meet next year and we can have that drink. In terms of my tales I don't relly have a constant memory of them. I just tend to read stuff on here and it jogs a memory which I tend to write down on here because (a) I think people will find them interesting and (b) it's like writing a 'living' diary - maybe I'll need a print off of all my posts so that I can remember anything of my life. :)

Hello dizzymoo.

She was indeed a right nasty piece of work. All my family and friends begged me to leave her. People really don't normally queue up to tell you to leave your girlfriend. It would be fair to say that I was heavily abused in that relationship. Anyway, I didn't get rid of her - she ran off with another bloke right out of the blue. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but I now know that at that moment of her leaving I got my old and real life back.

Just about Halloween so here's tonight's effort

20161030_pumpkin.jpg

Hope you enjoyed your small  biscuit @carlosj,  wishing you a speedy recovery and fully functioning kidneys @guypjfreak,  glad all is good with you and your offspring @bennyhana22.  Our eldest doesn't have a reading week (so he says) - he's already referring to his room in halls as home (cue lump in throat). @Quark good to hear family lunch didn't turn into carnage, @trevethin how'd the pumpkin carving go?  @cornish hick I'm so jealous of you living where you do.  We live as far as you can be from the sea in this country. @H.M.V hope NY is living up to expectations. @Yoghurt on a Stick so glad you regained your true self;  Mrs Yog sounds like exactly the person you need.

There's an owl in our garden making a lot of noise while I write this, getting into the spirit. Speaking  of which, I think I'll go and make up a little cherry bakewell nightcap.  Have a good week lovely peeps.

xx

Hello dizzymoo.

Mrs. Yog is indeed exactly the person. She saved me from a soul destroying rudderless existence and replaced it with something mind bendingly beautiful. Apparently I do the same thing for her - which is handy.

You've got an owl in your garden? How lovely. I forget to observe the wildlife in my back garden. About the craziest thing I've witnessed going on was a fox cub about four foot away from a cat. This fox cub was more agile than an agile thing. One minute it's just staring at the cat (who had obviously decided to hold her ground) and the next it's jumped up in the air and done a 360 degree turn and landed right back down just staring at the cat.

On top of that we occassionally have friends around a fire in the back garden. There's some wildlife for you, right there. Fortunately no one has gone feral so far, but I fear the worst.

Wishing you a good week too.

This is what MrsCJ is worried about with me!

Morning all, grey day here today, but in my heart, it's the weekend and I'm in bed still. Hope all goes well for everyone and kidneys, bagels, education and jobs are good.

Put your foot down and hold your ground carlos. Explain to your wife that it's every man's right to be a Peeping Tom, and that people died in the world wars just so that you could be one. Or were you thinking of something else which wasn't actually in any way connected with dressing up in all black and telling the wife that you were 'just popping out to get some fresh air'.

Happy Halloween, everyone! No fancy dress for me this year, but I did go to a friends house to have some drinks and watch cheesey horror films the other night.

Yesterday, after painting the kitchen (well, half of it) we watched The Blob, which I've not seen before. It was odd! Good, but odd!

The Evil Ched(dar)?

I was all lined up for a good productive week but have woken up with an infection in my elbow by the look of things :(. Doctor's appointment Friday but if it gets worse it might be a quick hospital visit!

Happy Monday all...

@Yoghurt on a Stick - everything clearly happens for a reason, minus the life lessons from you youth / failed relationships you wouldn't have met Mrs Yog. Equally, you wouldn't have interesting stories to tell!

@H.M.V hope you're enjoying NY. I loved it when I visited, fab city, you're there in time for ice skating to.

Wow - top pumpkin carving @dizzymoo

I think I only get 'B minus, must try harder' for ours :D I've not attached a photo before, but will have a go. Don't laugh at how unprofessional it is !

I love owls, often hear tawnies nearby, but haven't heard them for a while, hope they're ok.

I need to get going today.  My head thinks it's still half term and I'm still on holiday.  But of course I'm not.  Have spent past hour or so trying to understand NI contributions.  Boring. Am sure they make it complicated on purpose.  And I should really be outside glossing a window cill.  Must. Get. Going.
