Looking good! Of course there's still a chance the production delays could go further and he needs to cancel more, but the wording there definitely suggests that, for now, that's where the cancellations will stop.

I was looking forward to seeing his setlists from the previous shows, but now I guess we get to be the first date on his tour/go in to it totally blind, which is even more exciting. Just as long as he plays Self Control!

First Frank Ocean and Arcade Fire gigs of their tours so I guess that's a nice contrast to The xx who'll do the usual set (not that I'm complaining) and Bon Iver's most likely 22, AM heavy set.

So, I didn't think I'd write one of these posts but here I am.

I've got a full Primavera ticket which I unfortunately bought with my now ex girlfriend. At the current time, we are still going together along with two friends but I'm not sure if it's a good idea - it isn't/wasn't the smoothest of "uncouplings".

So question, do I still go? Is it worth it?

Annoyingly we are all staying in an apartment together.

Everyone on here is always pretty helpful. (also, if anyone has a space place to crash...that would be ideal!)

Yeah the Arcade Fire thing is pretty baffling, doesn't look like they are going to release anything. At this point I just want a greatest hits set and then maybe one or two new ones. Would be pretty cool to be the first people to hear new stuff.

Gabi said last Friday they will play new stuff.

As I mentioned earlier, they shot a video last month and the album mixing ended in the first week of March or so. They are most likely to release something before PS, and we'll hear it first.

Ace! Missed that Gabi said they'd be playing new stuff. Kinda hope they release a potential single at least a week before...

To be honest it totally depends on what you're looking to get from a festival, Primavera doesn't have much else going on apart from the music (which I think is a massive positive) so maybe not as many chances to socialise with others if you don't wanna hang with your ex & co. Although having said that people are pretty friendly and the new beach club stage may offer a bit more opportunity for making new friends.

If you just wanna go for great music then yes definitely. Even if you don't know everyone on the line up, you will discover stuff.

It really all depend on the other pals that you are going with.  If they are your pals -  still go - she might cancel.  If they are her pals - pie them.  Still go... but find somewhere else to stay.

Also Wednesday night could have another act at e.g. the Apolo early. Thursday too at the start of the day maybe also in town. Could also have some bands play out of the front of the festival like the Black Lips did a few years back.

Also Firestone stage - do we know if this is coming back with a few bands hosting 2nd gigs?

Hmm, have I stumbled upon the 3 Firestone acts - Pinegrove, Sinkane and Jeremy J?

Might explain why Pinegrove is down to play (a second set) so late...

What time are these acts usually on? Would love to catch Pinegrove to free me up for something else during their late night set (or just see em twice...)

So there's the gap between Wild Beast and !!! on the Saturday, and I also see another possible one between Fufanu and Berri Txarrak on the Friday. Any other noticeable gaps where this stuff could fit in?

I think the Fufana - Berri Txarrak gap will just be because it would be unfair to have anyone play whilst Swans are on the stage next to them.

Reckon the Unexpected Primavera will be the 3 x Firestone stage, 1 x mystery Hidden Stage, 1 x mystery Ray Ban slot and then one other - maybe a surprise Tuesday slot a la LCD Soundsystem last year? Surprise Aphex slot somewhere in town please thanks.

Perfect!  Cheers.

Actually on the Firestone website, it says the 3 acts play at 6pm which, if true, is more clashy.

sgreen7643, think you've nailed it with your predictions. Calling the Firestone acts 'unexpected' though is a bit weak given it took place last year and they've announced them on their site.

Sinkane's bigger gig is in 19:20, pretty uptight.

You want mystery? You got mystery!

This could go several ways. Besides not-in-the-poster surprises, I suppose one of those could coincide with Arcade Fire's release of new music. We'll find out in 3 weeks tops!

What're everybody's days (roughly, so far) looking like then?

Thurs: Cymbals Eat Guitars > ? > Miguel > Solange > Bon Iver > Slayer/Death Grips (shit clash) > Aphex Twin and then half way through maybe > King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard > Tycho or Henrik Schwarz > Pinegrove

Fri: ? > Whitney or Mitski > Marc DeMarco or Sampha > Frank Ocean > The xx > Run the Jewels > Flying Lotus > ?

Sat: Weyes Blood > Swet Shop Boys > Angel Olsen > Metronomy > Seu Jorge > Arcade Fire > Japandroids > ?

Gotta say I'm extremely happy with how it's worked out. Anybody got any recommendations for between Cymbals Eat Guitars and Miguel on the Thurs, before Whitney and then after Flying Lotus on the Fri or after Japandroids on the Sat? Probably just end up wandering but be nice to discover something new to get excited about seeing.

Thursday: Dinner! Trust me, you'll going to need it. An early Thursday dinner was arguably the smartest thing I've done in PS 2016. Also, I'm going to Death Grips, coming back to about 45 minutes of Aphex Twin and will never, ever miss out on King Gizzard.

Early Friday: Sinkane on the Firestone stage (he's clashing with Withney!), Ian Pooley in Desperados Club. You could also go to the CCCB, see Alexandra Savior/Julia Jacklin before rolling to the Forum.

Late Friday: Priests is going to be so fun at Pitchfork, and the Talaboman/KiNK/Dixon combo will be great wherever you will go. I'll probably go to Talaboman.

Saturday: Looking at the sets around it, I'm sure they put something really big over there - they made sure no harmful clashes will be made, a really weird scenario. Let's just see what they hid so well. If the surprise won't please you: Perhaps the end of Preoccupations' set at Pitchfork or Ferenc (an electronic duo containing PS' Head of Booking, Fra Soler). Then there's a set of the excellent Recondite, but I'm staying at the Ray-Ban for !!!, which are really awesome live, and DJ Coco. The best tip valid for any edition of Primavera Sound: Don't you ever miss out on DJ Coco!

Not going but I keep looking at the Clashfinder and wishing I was. Such a great lineup.

I'd go:

Soledad Velez > Aries > Nots > This is Not This Heat > Broken Social Scene or Solange > Bon Iver > Death Grips > Aphex Twin (maybe leave for King Gizzard during) > Tycho or Skinny Puppy > Pinegrove

Mitski > Sampha > Frank Ocean > The xx > Operators > Flying Lotus > Priests

The Magnetic Fields > Songhoy Blues > Swet Shop Boys > Angel Olsen > Kelly Lee Owens > Grace Jones > Arcade Fire > Skepta > Clubz > Mannequin Pussy > DJ Coco
