From what's been announced elsewhere we seem to be looking at one (or two joint headliners) of the below?

The Killers, The Pixies, Foals, Frank Ocean, Justice, New Order, Kasabian, Flaming Lips, Richard Ashcroft, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, The 1975, Phoenix, Franz Ferdinand, PJ Harvey and at an absolute push, The Stone Roses.

 

I don't know how big most of these bands are in the Netherlands, but I'd say The Killers and LCD Soundsystem are too big as third headliner. Most of these bands might fit, but I'm still guessing Frank Ocean and Aphex Twin might be most probable (even though both are a bit off the regulare BKS headliner style). Pixies and Franz Ferdinand already headlined, Foals, Justice and Phoenix seem to be better suited as subs. Richard Ashcroft, Liam Gallagher and The Strokes would fit niceley to other headliners they previously booked, but I think also The Flaming Lips would be perfect (sureley not the biggest of the possible headliners, but a lot of cult around them and amazing headliner-worthy live shows).

It's all guesswork of course but I don't think LCD are that an expensive band to book. Certainly nowhere near the fee that AF and Radiohead would be getting.

Edit - I see Northside is still to announce a Saturday headliner for the week before. I've a feeling that the BKS Friday headliner will be the same as the Northside Saturday headliner. Can't be AF as they're at IOW same weekend.

I'd be very happy with that. Being sold out means you wouldn't get the Brits coming over especially either.

You do have all the regular drinks (Beer, Softdrinks), but also stalls dedicated to wine, cocktails, cider, fresh juices... Especially the foodselection is amazing and drinks are good as well.

If they keep the (actually pretty good working) system they had in the last two years, you'll habe a chip attached to the wristband that you can top up. Payment is very fast and you can always check your balance. Due to the nature of the system I don't really remember the prices but my feeling is that they were fair.

There is a refund for cups (also via the chip). They do have a limited amount of cups with the full lineup every year and on the last day most people try to get and keep at least one of those.

I've got a picture of the menu from the cider bar on my phone and 400ml ranged from 5.95 to 6.40. The smaller ones (250ml) were between 3.75 and 4.00.

I think beers were a little cheaper than that but not much.

The official beer selection is about the festival's only weak point to be honest. AB-InBev have the drinks concession, which means it's almost all Jupiler Pils at the main stands. They may have had Hoegaarden witbier as well, but I'm not a big fan so I wasn't paying attention. In 2015 they had a floating bar selling glass bottles of Goose Island IPA and Goose Island 312 Wheat Ale and with real glasses, but sadly that didn't reappear this year.

If you like beer it is worth keeping an eye open, however, as a couple of the food trucks were selling half-decent beers on the sly (i.e without AB-InBev's knowledge as they wouldn't have approved). There was a "coffee" stall beside Stage Two this year that had a rather good Coffee Stout as a side venture...

Surely we'll get an announcement this week. 

Temples just announced a run of spring dates. No Dutch date on there even though they're covering most other countries. Could be a sign.

Run The Jewels has Belgian and Dutch dates on their site now, so think we can rule them out. Too bad.

Bummer. I was 99% sure they'd perform at BKS (especially because they are booked by Friendly Fire and are around). But the Melkweg show is in April and they still might be announced after the show took place (not that uncommon).
