No idea. Traditionally the biggest announcement of the year was at the end of January / beginning of February:

2013: 28.01. (11 names)

2014: 29.01. (23 names)

2015: 04.02. (53 names)

2016: 04.02. (32 names)

I'd bet on Thursday this week. :)

Actually is a stupid discourse but everything on the website and social media is green, so I think it'll be green (Viridian exactly) :D

Gee, always thought of viridian as more blue than green. Seeing I'm wrong, I'll go with green for the wristbands, too (Viridian exactly) :D

p.s.: any stores near the campsite (walking distance)? (for water mostly, as I hear there's no free drinking water inside, or at least wasn't in the last couple of years, some cheaper alcohol to sneak in too perhapse) or are the nearest ones in tilburg? I mean once I'm camped I'm doomed to buying everything inside or there's a better option?

After Jamie xx last year I think that they don't mind a smaller third headliner, especially when they are as merited as ATCQ.

Just saw the tour schedule for Real Estate and they have a gap between their shows in Brussels and Berlin which nicely fits BKS.

Yes! Jamie XX is not too big but his "In colours" was one of 2015 highlights.

ATCQ are a legendary great hip hop act (their last "We got it from here...thank you 4 your service" is excellent too) but I think they have less appeal on a big crowd than Jamie XX.

There has always been free drinking water in the festival site. Just fill up from the washbasins in the toilet blocks. I think there were a few taps that specifically said 'not drinking water' but all the others are fine.

No shops nearby. Tilburg is the best bet. There are a few shops in Hilvarenbeek to the south, but less choice, and it's a 45-minute walk each way.

My bad then, read a rewiev somewhere that said no water, guess it was bullshit or i got it wrong.

Anyway, thanks for the info, much appreciated!

Re announcements - I wouldn't mind AQCT at all, I would be disappointed though if they were the third headliner (or co-headlining with someone worse)...

Yussef Kamaal self-confirmed via Bandcamp.

An announcement at the end of this week seems plausible btw, as Lowlands (major competitors) are announcing new names next week.

They are sold out though, so no need to worry about that...

Orbital would make a good headliner now they are back!

Do you like the announcement? :D:D:D

The only reason I see because they didn't is that the third headliner can't be announced since there's a dutch gig in the next months.

Which medium/big bands are in Netherlands in February/March?

Edit: offtopic --> I'm planning to spend two nights in Utrecht before BKS; first night we'll be 5 people, the second 8/10. Any tips/reccomendations? (Where to stay, activities and especially since we're big fans of good beer where to drink :) )

Big fans of good beer? *cough* http://www.booksaboutbeer.com/collections/netherlands/products/beer-in-the-netherlands

The three best brewpubs/brewery taps are Maximus (http://www.brouwerijmaximus.nl/), Oproer (http://www.oproerbrouwerij.nl/), and Kromme Haring (http://www.dekrommeharing.nl/). They are all a short bus or train ride out of the centre, but worth a pilgrimage to any serious beer lover. There's a fourth brewpub in a "castle" right in the centre - Oudaen (http://www.oudaen.nl/web/en/1_home.htm), but their beers aren't nearly as good as the other three.

If you like supping a brew in a cosy beer pub the best places in the centre by far are De Drie Dorstige Herten (http://www.dedriedorstigeherten.nl/) and De Rat (http://www.cafederat.nl/). Kafé België (https://www.facebook.com/KafeBelgie/) has a decent beer selection, but with more of a rough 'n' ready studenty vibe. Olivier (https://utrecht.cafe-olivier.be/) is in an old church and has a reasonable range. Its biggest claim to fame is that a few weeks ago it became the very first bar in the entire world to serve Duvel on tap.

Places to stay? I usually go via booking.com and see what's cheapest in the centre (and I usually end up in the Park Plaza by the station). Most of the hotels are big chains, so all OK, but I don't know of a secret little family run 'must stay here' type of place to recommend.

Activities: if you like trains the Dutch national railways museum in there and pretty good: http://www.spoorwegmuseum.nl/#!/en/home

Or for a decent view climb the Dom tower, the tallest church tower in the Netherlands: http://www.domtoren.nl/en

The Oude Gracht, the canal that runs through the centre, is pretty damn nice just on its own. Unlike all the canals in Amsterdam, Delft, etc. the canalside wharf/street is on two levels. There are plenty of cafés/bars with terraces on both levels to hang out in and admire the view.

Excellent!!! Thanks a lot. I'm going to study :):) I remember I've read times ago on an italian beer forum a pub to totally avoid in Utrecht (don't remember the name)  but with your advices I'm sure I'll not go there :):):)
