So now it's just whether Kasabian or Alt J headline Wednesday. I know objectively Kasabian are bigger, but on all the press the names are listed like "Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Alt-J, Kasabian, Michaela Kiwanuku"

I have a feeling that Flogging Molly plays in Croatia every year  Great live band as is 90% of Celtic punk bands

Yeah, they played INmusic 2010 and 2014 it seems. Sure they'll be fun enough

And had solo shows in 2009 and 2011 and they played some other festivals in 2012 and 2015

Any tips for a cheap way to get there from Manchester travelling on the Saturday/Sunday before? Planes are still quite pricey

The best choice is to fly from Stansted to Treviso or to Ronchi (Trieste) (both Ryanar); then you can take a Flixbus:

from Venice (Mestre) 19€, 6h

from Trieste 11€, 4h

I think from Trieste you can find also others couch company but I'm not sure.

Trieste-Zagreb is about 2,5h by car but obviously a bus take more time.

 

ps: if you'll fly to Trieste a reccomend you a stop here

I'd recommend flying to Trieste or Venice (a lot of low cost airlines from all around europe) and then use GoOpti shuttle service. It's cheap, reliable, much more comfortable than bus, takes less time and is about the same price if you book now. PM me if you need any additional info, I'm happy to help. (I don't work for them  I use their services ocasionally and they are by far the best option of transfer between airports/places in this area).

Yep, and there are regular charter flights from at least Leeds, if not Manchester to one of the Italian airports close to the Slovenian border (Marco Polo, Treviso, Trieste). I don't know about the flights from the UK to Zagreb though.

Don't expect a smaller cheaper Sziget :D....it's smaller for sure but nothing like Sziget. Nice little festival but it's more like a few consecutive large night gigs as opposed to the carnage and all night madness of Sziget.
