What exactly is the deal with battleborn and jj-whatever number he’s on?

Seems like an awful lot of attention seeking twattery for the sake of it to me.

JJ seems like an excited wean who has just found out about festivals. Don't know what battleborn's excuse is.

But there's no reason for anyone but the nutters to be here at almost the midpoint between last festival and next festival when it's too late to still be discussing last one and too early to be chewing over the next, so we're just as bad I suppose.

Where’s this daft punk info from? Not heard it before.

The same info probably that means people think they're gonna release a new album most years...

I don't understand why people think Daft Punk have a normal touring/release schedule. Literally in the last 20 years they've released 5 albums and done 2 tours. Apparently Banglater's tinnitus is getting worse, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't tour again anyway and just stick to producing.

not pyramid headliners but I've heard The Streets are being lined up to play. Other stage headliners or pyramid sub

Pyramid sub would be a bit of a push considering they were headlining JP and WH last two times. Surely nostalgia isn't worth that much?

It has already proven extremely valuable though. The tour this year sold out pretty quickly and the one next year has already shifted huge numbers. In fact, their tour is looking similar to the amount that The xx did and they were supposedly robbed of a headline spot according to some peeps. I think The Streets would suit headlining the Other Stage a fair bit more though.

I could certainly get behind them headlining Other, especially if The 1975 are on the Pyramid at the same time.

I guess with their tour dates they are possibly around that size now. I was expecting them to do a run of the medium sized festivals like Y Not, Kendal Calling etc rather than Glastonbury but I guess both are possible.

I thought they'd be an absolute stick on for Bestival this year, but apparently not.

Are they working on new material or just touring with the old stuff?

Have you heard their new singles? Pretty decent imo. I heard they were lining up for an album.

Maybe wouldn't put them as a Pyramid sub though, third down might be quite good.

Yeah tbf would they really get a smaller crowd than LCD Soundsystem did? I was thinking Other sub, which tbh I think is what I was thinking for LCD when we first heard about their reunion.

Other headliner definitely makes more sense than Pyramid sub.

Has @endswithMJ given us decent info in the past?

I might be wrong but I'm sure he was one of the people who said LCD would be playing before the reunion was announced.

Speaking for myself it's cos I've got no place else to go!

Actually The Streets could probably headline:

  1.  Don't Mug Yourself
  2.  Could Well Be In
  3.  Everything is Borrowed
  4.  Has it Come This?
  5. Going Through Hell
  6.  Empty Cans
  7.  Can't Con an Honest John
  8.  Never Went to Church
  9.  Get Out of My House
  10.  Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way?
  11. We Can Never Be Friends
  12.  Prangin Out
  13.  Let's Push Things Forward
  14.  Heaven for the Weather
  15.  When You Wasn't Famous
  16. Those That Don't Know
  17.  The Strongest Person I Know
  18.  The Escapist
  19.  I Love You More (Than You Like Me)
  20.  Trying to Kill M.E
  21.   Going Through Hell
  22.  Dry Your Eyes
  23.  Fit But You Know It
  24. Blinded By the Light

Seriously, what is your deal?

So by this logic any act that we can name over 20 songs could be a headliner?? They haven’t even been away that long and one of their last performances (definitely last festival appearance) was subbing the R1 tent at R&L ‘11. Big jump in a seven year absence that would be.

Nope. Any culturally significant act with a number of hit songs could headline. They'd be a weak headliner but they could do it.

Steps, westlife, Robbie Williams, Spice Girls (last one not actually ridiculous). Anyone could attach that argument to any one of them, all culturally significant in their own way with back catalogues that masses know.

They might even be a tad too weak to headline Other stage, a fine sub though.

Track 6 would be asking for trouble
