Mr.Tease
Hope Scotland hasn't stuffed this for us- those Tory wins there could tip the balance of power and be the difference between them being able to form a gvt or not

Spindles
Keep hope. The way the party has targeted gains is what is making the difference here. There are still a fair number of seats expected to fall our way that just weren't on the radar for many (my own included) due to requiring seemingly impossible swings. The lesson here is: Call an election the nation doesn't want and you'll get a result you don't want either.
fowls
I feel like this is the point where Tories start pulling ahead. Labour is running out of safe seats to boost the numbers, but Tories have plenty left. I'm going to go to sleep and pretend Labour can hold it while I still can. It totally polarised the vote and there's a huge amount of tactical voting on the go up here. I'm a Labour voter and voted to remain in both referenda. I've never felt as unrepresented as up to tonight - to see Labour make ground again is fantastic.

OneLittleFish
Salmond gone! As someone who would rather have policy lead politics in Scotland as opposed to a "We'll give you another referendum" "Well we'll not" tit for tat argument I'm happy with that. Real shame that the Tories have made gains but hopefully, just hopefully, we can work on improving living standards. I should also add that after asking him a question about policy and his arrogant response to my genuine question I've got reason to be delighted to see him ousted. Woffy
Reports earlier that Rupert Murdoch stormed out of whatever victory party he was at as soon as the exit poll results were released last night. Looking at the savagery of the right wing press headlines this morning towards May, I imagine Jerry Hall didn't see much of hubby last night. waterfalls212434
Whatever the result, no one can now deny Corbyn and labour have had an amazing campaign......coming from a predicted total Tory whitewash to looking likely to forcing a hung parliament is the biggest shift in U.K. Political history. And it happened under a man who many including many here mocked and called unelectable, a vote loser, blah blah blah. I wonder if some of his critics now have the balls to come out and admit they were wrong? And think on this, if the man had been given total support, if he hadn't had to spend time beating off attacks from naysayers in his own party and dealing with the chaos and unpredictability that could have turned some off voting labour we could have been looking at a majority labour govt tonight.....think on that because you owe this man a huge fucking apology for ever doubting! Untz
Been watching throughout the night. Plenty of excitement. Obviously it's not been called yet, but it's looking damn hilarious. Call an election to strengthen your majority and end up with a hung parliament? Good job. Anna Soubry's chat to the BBC was one of my favourite things all night. Who're an equally despicable bunch Yes but how will they implement a manifesto that was unpopular with their own party? Hard to see them. Implementing anything. Now even David Davis is saying hard brexit is maybe off the table. As a Corbyn supporter I'm delighted - I was fearing disaster the past few days and he has been spectacular this campaign. However, taking a step back, the country is screwed- the EU must be laughing at us, likely May will resign and be replaced with Boris, and seemingly we'll have no domestic agenda and are running out of time for brexit talks. Tories have royally screwed us again!
