"Really big secret"

I was wondering if it could be an Oasis reunion the other day.

it's just about impossible.

Liam has flogged himself out for big money this summer. If he was suddenly doing Oasis shows around those solo shows they'd be some absolutely-hugely fucked-off promoters.

The only variation to that I can think of is if those promoters already know they're really getting Oasis and not liam solo - but if that was the case I can't really see it staying secret for the time it has.

What do we think the chances of Glastonbury doing a R&L and having a co-headliner? Say Ed Sheehan has the same length of time on the stage with the same production just he doesn't play last. Only say Ed Sheehan because compared to Radiohead and Foo Fighters he seems like having a set in the daylight would work out better.

Why would Ed and his management accept that ?

Ok my final guess is Phil Collins. He announced his tour around 6 months ago (maybe when they struck the deal)... he has a day free on the saturday. He is big enough for it to be a really big secret.

Probably completely wrong like but it fits for me.

There's so many reasons why it wont be Oasis, not worth discussing as a possibility

Noel touring with U2 this summer is one reason !

I don't know about that, I saw Edward The Shearanator on the Pyramid in the daylight in 2014 and he was like musical valium, most of the crowd were just chatting amongst themselves during his songs.

Exclusive European performance at BST, happening after Glastonbury.

Huh? He has about 10 gigs in Europe before Glastonbury...?  I notice it says "Only" on the website though...

Surely they would have made more a deal about it if it truly was exclusive? One unasuming word on a by line... ?

True it says only festival appearance, are the other gigs his own?  Still I suppose if it was genesis doing a 50th anniversary thing that gets round that one anyway.

I could really get behind this Phil Collins idea. exclusives mean jack when it comes to Glastonbury, how many people with a Glastonbury ticket would've bought a BST ticket to see him, but wouldn't if he was announced? If anything the TV coverage would probably help BST. Plus it explains the strange silence over the tea time slot.

Or they could get around the Phil Collins 'exclusive' restriction by turning it into a full-blown Genesis reunion with the return of Peter Gabriel and everything! That would be huge. Add them to the list of bands it'd be incredible to see reform that's not going to happen...

"Sorry Bazza - we know we signed you up for it last year when you came offstage after flying in especially to do us a favour, but we've decided to go with someone with less of a pedigree and fewer big hits than you."

Do we know what was promised to Bazza though? And would Glastonbury turn down the chance to have both him and Phil Collins, just to spare his feeling if he had been lined up for the legend slot?
