He's getting £10m if twitter is to be believed and Utd are covering it, Chelsea just matched the £75m + £15m add ons. So it pushes the deal to £100m.

Not from what I've read. I don't think I've read one comment which suggests he isn't finished and taking up a valuable salary.

In terms of his salary, I think he will make a lot back in terms of his commercial value. Despite his faults Rooney is still by a country mile the most high profile English footballer to the international market.

There is one that rolls over every season. But I imagine there a fair few people on it that no longer frequent these boards much anymore. You automatically get re-entered into the league each seaosn if you create a team. Someone will come along with the link to it at some point.

In other news, Mesut is making noises about wanting to stay. Id rather keep Alexis, but maybe 1 will convince the other? probably clutching at straws.

Excellent news. Only really been frequenting the forums for the past seven months so cheers for the heads up. I can't see Ozil leaving now Wenger has signed the new contract. Alexis on the other hand... Who knows. I think the addition of Lacazette is encouraging. If they manage to hold onto Sanchez, with no European football this year (as we saw with Chelsea last campaign) they could really do some damage.

Did he not only play as a striker last season when the cherries had injuries upfront? Can't remember. Oh well. They've done the same with Firmino but neither will win you a worthwhile amount of points.

Yeah played a few on his own by mainly just behind Afobe, strangely Mane is still a midfielder but played as the front man more than Firmino

Mane was sensational last season despite missing games through injury and African Nations. Definitely the best option out of the Liverpool attacking players. That said, Salah could tear it up - his price puts me off picking him though.

We do have European football, but it's just in the Europa League. Chelsea had none at all last year. I feel Europa League is worse for tiring out a squad due to it being played on Thursday. It'll be interesting to see how seriously Wenger takes it.

Arsenal are in the Europa League. Yep, that went over my head completely. I take back what I said. Would Wenger play a decent team in the Europa though? I don't think he'd take it all that seriously in terms of starters.

Unless he's coming to West Ham (which he's not, obviously) I'd rather he stayed in Germany.

Chelsea will most likely beat us with or without him, so it makes little difference to me. I just like seeing world class players in the Premier League.

Everton look like they've got Sigurdsson now. Fantastic window for them so far.

I'd like to see Chelsea bring in Morata to be honest. Averaged a goal every 88 minutes in La Liga last year, managed to find the net 15 times despite only starting 14 games. He was reliable in Europe as well, only started 1 game but scored 3 times in 167 minutes of football. I reckon his style of play suits Chelsea perfectly as teams play a lot deeper against us and he looks comfortable against that whereas someone like Lukaku likes to play in behind the defence. A lot of talk about the price tag but the way I see it, he's not reached his prime yet, he will do the job for years to come and he will score goals immediately.
