Everton look like they've got Sigurdsson now. Fantastic window for them so far.

Is spending almost £50 million on Sigurdsson a good deal though? I get these days thats the price you pay for someone with premier league experience and who is proven goalscorer and creator but it seems mad when you consider that players like Ozil, Fabregas and David Silva all cost less.

I don't know whether it is a good window for them yet to be honest. We'll have to see how they deal with losing Lukaku and possibly Barkley alongside how the new signings gel. Keane and Pickford are both decent buy and it sounds like this Sandro lad could be bargain of the century. Definitely has the potential to be a fantastic window, thats for sure. I'm really interested in watching the way they play this year and seeing how they get on. Their opening fixtures are tough and there will be wholesale changes to the match day squad. Could go tits up.

Chelsea will most likely beat us with or without him, so it makes little difference to me.

Quite, they might not win the league without him though...

I just like seeing world class players in the Premier League.

I don't see what difference it makes whether he's playing in England or Germany.

40m I'm hearing but as you say, thats the going rate. I rate him. They may as well spend the Lukaku money though.

Barkley is overrated on a biblical scale.

I still think 5 million for Andy Cole was a lot of money. I don't think the comparisons you give is a good one as it's a different time and also those players will have been paid substantialy more.

Sigurddson failed at Spurs. I think he's a player that needs to be a big fish. £40m rejected, and I think Everton would be foolish to raise that.

In other news, Kyle Walker going to City for £40m rising to 50! Ridiculous price for a defender who can't tackle.

That's like one of the long range goals you score on FIFA that looks great at first glance then you watch the replay and realise it was down the middle and the keeper just dived out of the way.

Yeah but it proves he can do it on a balmy Thursday night in Tanzania.

I have questions marks around the Gor Mahia keeper. Someone defo put him on an arrow down in form before the game.

He made some quite um unconventional saves.

Wouldn't surprise me if with Barkley, Funes Mori, James Mccarthy and Kevin Mirallas all move on.

We've been linked for 9 months with James McCarthy and I just don't think he's that good. If we're going to sign a 27 yr old reserve I'd much prefer Delph.

He was excellent during Martinez's first season but has dropped off since then. Leicester seem interested but we want £25m which I guess seems high but when we've just sold Tom Cleverly for £8m maybe not.

Why???

Delph is on huge wages and is fit less often than Darren Anderton

Because he has twice the talent of James Mccarthy

Undoubtedly - but can't effect games if he's not playing. Hardly a recent thing either - he averages less than 20 games a season (league and cup) over the last decade.

I guess you could loan him and get City to cover a decent percentage of his wages - a la Hart.

Sky are saying that Chelsea have had an £88m bid for Higuain rejected.

That's an outrageous amount of money for a 29 year old.

I almost think we are at the stage where we need to reassess what's normal for a premiership transfer fee. While it's a lot of money when you hear that Spurs would want 150 million for Kane it's not unreasonable.
