I almost think we are at the stage where we need to reassess what's normal for a premiership transfer fee. While it's a lot of money when you hear that Spurs would want 150 million for Kane it's not unreasonable.

Mega fees for players under 25 I understand, but paying near the world record for a player approaching 30 seems mental to me. I suppose the super rich clubs don't have to worry about resale value or anything like that.

Sky are saying that Chelsea have had an £88m bid for Higuain rejected.

That's an outrageous amount of money for a 29 year old.

I can't see this happening at all. I know when Abramovic first came it was a bit of throwing money about and seeing where it lands but that has settled down a bit. Okay in comparison to Burnley we're still worlds apart in terms of our spending but generally in the past five years we tend to spend on average, roughly £25 - 35 mil on first team players. Since the utter failure of Torres, I think Chelsea's board have changed the way they handle transfers. The focus is very much on outgoings funding incomings. For instance in the last three years we've made over £100 million for players with less than ten appearances. We've also made over £120 million this year alone on outgoings, compared to having spent about £65 million on players coming in. Obviously signing a premium striker will change all this a bit but if Costa and Matic depart then we're still gonna be up on money.

Anyway, can we just invest in Morata please.

As much as some people moan and gnash their teeth, Chelsea's use of the loan market has been a masterstroke for them, they make an absolute killing from it.

I'm still bitter about you pinching Izzy Brown from us.

It's been an incredibly smart abuse of the system and FPP rules, but I wish they'd change the rules to stop it.

I would be if I were you because he'll never even play for us. Goes for pretty much every single youngster at Chelsea. If a 19 year old Lukaku who scored 17 PL goals for you couldn't get a game at Chelsea (at that point or after a 15 goal season with Everton) then nobody has a chance.

Hopefully Brown will go to another Premier League team; I heard Brighton were sniffing around. He isn't one of our strongest youngsters in my opinion, there are many others with far greater potential.

With Zouma going to Stoke, Palmer at Hudds, RLC at Palace and Tammy Abraham* at Swans it looks like Chelsea loanees are gonna be everywhere this year. It's a smart system but I agree it is being abused. Hogging all the talent isn't attractive. I understand they want good young players with potential but hoarding them all like cattle is a bit much and gives sides with a smaller budget no chance.

*Tammy Abraham is worth a watch. If he scores Premier League goals this year maybe we will learn from our mistakes with Lukaku?!

We were in the running for Zouma but apparently baulked at the £7m loan fee. Far too much just to loan a player for a year, especially with £100k a week wages on top.

I rate Arnautovic, I would of rather had him for £25m than Bolasie.

He must have something about him, but I don't think I've ever seen Arnautovic have a good match in person. We played Stoke in February and after about five minutes he realised he wasn't going to get any joy out of Alain Nyom at right back so just sulked all match and barely figured.

So are West ham going to start playing the trendy way everyone else seems to have started playing? Hernandez up front with Arnautovic and Antonio just behind and then the  3 man midfield.

I don't understand how Nyom is a premier league footballer. Baffles me everytime I see him play.

He was one of our better players last season, a perfectly capable mid-lower Premier League full back.

I'm sure he might be defensively. But in possession its unbelievable, I'm not sure I've seen a more uncomfortable and erratic looking full back than him. Every time he gets the ball I feel like literally anything could happen.

He has a style that's all of his own. He isn't helped by Pulis' insistence on playing him at left back when he does not possess a left foot. He's fine though, not world class by any stretch but certainly not the worst player in the league.

Sakho. Having said that, Sakho looks terrible but rarely fucks up.

But he does look terrible.

I really don't understand why Galloway didn't get a game.. He looked excellent for us the year before.

We played like that much of last season.
