Yeah we ended up going, mostly to see Nas. But yeah it was v odd to see Loyle Carner supported by those 2. That said, the Andre 3000 flute set was one of the worst things I have ever seen (coming from a big Outkast fan) so his positioning made a bit more sense.
That said, I think he'd still draw a respectable crowd, and is probably a cheap booking for the festival, and different from 1975 so there would be minimal crossover appeal, plus can't imagine there will be many other hip hop acts on at the same time.
As someone who was in the sparsely populated field at Bestival 2013 and also in the roadblocked Pyramid field with 100K + others in 2023, I would say there has definitely been an increase or resurgence in his stock in those 10 years.
Bestival (Sunday Best) now bankrupt, didn't have millions to pay headliners then either.
