Yes. albeit that's for a match

I would have assumed a larger concert capacity, but Boxscore data does indeed say they had a sell-out with a 15,000-strong capacity crowd there.

Just look at some of those other figures though - they didn't sell out their Eden Project shows and fell short of a complete catch from the three Milton Keynes shows. Plus, they didn't really nail it in Europe - just 3,853 punters for their Stockholm date.

Now, I know that a run behind The Black Parade brings added nostalgia to the fore, but I'll be fascinated to see what venues they book if they do come over.

Half the pitch was covered over to protect the areas where they bowl so felt much smaller than it would have been with the whole area open

That makes more sense. I know several venues can fudge the figures - for years, Iron Maiden had sell-out shows across American arenas that just looked to be a few blocks shy of being proper capacity for a concert.

That's by the by, given they appear to have mostly sold out their stadium run next year. Imagine espionage asset Bruce Dickinson does not give two hoots.

I think with stadium concerts, the capacity tends to be similar to sporting events. The extra punters on the pitch make up for the loss of a seating taken up by the backstage area

Definitely does for plenty, though cricket pitches can throw a few wrinkles in there. Old Trafford Cricket Ground sticks 26,000 in the stands, but reportedly holds 50,000 for concerts. (Which seems kind of insane, even when I'm there in the thick of it.)

I wouldn't have liked more people in there as in an emergency it would have not felt safe to leave the standing area in Cardiff as there was only really one way in and out of the it

I remember somebody saying that Green Day at Huddersfield was dangerously overcrowded on the floor. Not been to the John Smith's Stadium - a fabulously northern name for a stadium that doesn't always serve John Smith's - for a concert, so would be fascinated to see how it looks for Stereophonics this year.

That makes sense, cricket stadium stands tend to be fairly small compared to football/rugby ones, unless you're at Lords or similar

Would explain why getting out of it after Green Day was such a pain in the arse. Sending most of that to one tram stop is a recipe for getting stuck in a queue for the best part of forever.

Ticketmaster's TikTok account teasing a big rock show in Cardiff tomorrow at 9am. "(and maybe dig out the skinny jeans and black eyeliner)". Looks like Cardiff Castle in the video

Presumably this clue isn't for Jamiroquai. Unless there's suddenly an indication that their look back in the day was skinny jeans and eyeliner.
