Well deserved too! He's certainly put the hard yards in, from busking in London not too many years ago to Hammersmith Odeon.

Also, good work to the poster designer for putting the actual days on the date list so we don't have to double check calendars!

Yeah that's the impression I got. I knew Lana del Rey was popular given festival headlining and has this kind of aura around her that attracts a decent crowd, but stadiums is ambitious. Particularly as I didn't necessarily hear her music and get a vibe that it screamed big venue vibes.

 

But hey, I imagine they're confident it'll do the business.

I think few artists in popular music have quite the casual mystique around them like LDR. She is immensely popular (despite, as some said, her frequently questionable values). I think the name just carries too much weight for so many people. The type of name that attracts fans (especially younger fans) based solely on the name and the reputation she has. Essentially every single younger colleague I have worked, with would likely cop a ticket for this show - if only for the instagram stories

I was at Leeds Festival last year and she had by far the biggest crowd of everyone all weekend. Fred Again (who drew in a decent crowd of his own) played straight after her to a much smaller crowd.

Its a pretty crap state of affairs when someone's better off getting their kit off, instead of touring.

 

However it might be the market adjusting to her musical appeal, and maybe people would rather look at pics of her bottom rather than listen to her singing. In summary: dunno LOL 😄

A few weeks ago Lily Allen claimed selling pictures of her feet on that platform made more money than music. But maybe that's not a surprise given how little streaming platforms can be arsed to pay musicians.
