wouldn't be linked or a updated edition of yung bluds festival there last year could it?

Oo I mean they are both AEG Presents festivals so there might be a link there. It does seem to be a thing of its own however; mentions two music stages and a third stage hosted by John Robb which "will delve into the artistry, movement and culture through in-depth discussions with renowned artists, going behind the scenes to reveal their stories"

I'd be surprised if it's being billed as a relative to Cruel World.

I've seen a couple articles (v PR-fed) that says it is the "UK sister event" of Cruel World. Not exactly cheap, I'll say. Presale first release tickets are at £85 (presumably without fees)

Less of an announcement and more one to mull - tickets apparently getting low for Catfish and the Bottlemen in Manchester.

Is this just Ticketbastard creating false demand in the same way as they would with a seated show? They can't take whole blocks of tickets off sale in any visible way, so put a note like this out? This is as brown and smelly as their music is...

My exact thoughts. Heaton Park also has the benefit, with no physical stands, that it can be scaled appropriately to demand and considered a "sell-out".

They may only have shifted 12,000 for this. If they suddenly reduce capacity for the event with the council to 15,000, then hey presto - a sell-out show you can tout as proof of your powers, even if it is significantly below where you previously were.

Normally, this would take Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to its nominal cap of five concerts per year - they also have two from Imagine Dragons and one for Catfish and the Bottlemen - but the club were allowed to increase their non-matchday events list to thirty per year earlier this August.

How this shakes down for gigs is another matter - it obviously hosts a lot of other sporting events, from NFL to rugby union and more.

We do occasional (very small scale) comedy shows in Newcastle.  Trust me, if we put out an email saying 'limited seats available' or 'last few tickets remaining' we've sold bugger all.

I’m a big Catfish fan but even I’ll say it was ludicrously ambitious playing three 80,000 cap dates. No one will buying the seats in London or Cardiff at £80 plus!

Just had a look at the Cardiff date on TM, wow. At a time when the WRU could do with a complete sell out, I would be massively surprised if this even sells half.

Unless ticket sales are miraculously boosted by reductions/seatfillers/Catfish becoming the biggest band in the world due to some bizarre act of wierdness, they'll surely end up setting the venue up like for Bruce in 2013 with the stage 2/3 of the way along the pitch and effectively having it setup as a giant arena. For him, that year, it was deliberate and it worked incredibly well.

You're not wrong - did wonder if they might move out to Cardiff City stadium but the date being in August is presumably too close to the start of the new football season.

Spurs fortunately nowhere near that level anyway - biggest-selling show there was P!ink with 51,000 per night. Beyonce did 48,000, Travis Scott and Guns N' Roses did 46,000 and Lady Gaga did 43,000.

All officially sell-outs, which of course factors in the stage arrangements - both Beyonce and Lady Gaga were touting big B-stage set-ups from memory - but aye, don't think they'll be trying for more than 50,000 tops there.

Not, that as you say, they are going to necessarily sell it at those prices and with other dates on the calendar. If there was no Cardiff or Manchester shows, do believe London would have sold out by now.

Lost Evenings being back on Blighty is a nice surprise, but probably a stretch too far to check out.

Did we ever glean more about what Turner's conduct was abroad that led to his separation?

Yeah, Edinburgh's not the most affordable of places and, from what I understand, the venue's shite too. Going to give it a miss.

No idea on the other...

Surprised it's not at Usher Hall, I guess.

Don't think there would be a Leeds venue big enough to do justice, though the triple-room structure at the Brudenell would make it a terrific shout if it was to be stripped very much back.

Would the Leeds Uni venues work?
