do you want to be seen as an insensitive prick during all of this if you make a big announcement? That answers that.

There are tragedies and disasters happening all over the world everyday, would there be the same if it was a small town anywhere else in the world

They likely have personal ties to the area.

I’m not sure Trent Reznor or Beyonce have a house or family in Sudan.

There is obviously a cynical edge we can take because it’s a major Western city tragedy, and not African / Middle Eastern / Asian but I think having personal ties to the area can excuse them a bit. It’s only delaying announcements - and we only know NIN’s hand was forced because of the leaks.

The music industry has strong ties to LA and SoCal so it's to be expected that there's going to be sadness at what's happened. Indeed, this piece I was reading has hints at things like studios, venues and individuals who've had their lives truly upended by this: LA music community on "tragic" impact of wildfires: "This will be felt for years"

So it makes sense there's going to be a lot of wondering what the hell they do now. And that's before the fires have even been put out, given there are some areas where this is still yet to be extinguished.

Would love to see Kasabian and Blossoms but will be impossible nowadays with the queueing systems. In the past I'd have been pretty confident of getting tickets but it's barely worth the effort now

I saw Kasabian at a War Child charity gig at SBE in 2014 and that was a really good night. Same tbf with Muse & The Vaccines at a similar such show in 2013.

My suspicion is that there'll still be a big spike in demand and a bit of a free-for-all element to it. Tempted just to commit to getting tickets for Truck, where both these two are and which I've been umming and ahhing over for several weeks, if not helped by the fact nobody else I know is bothered about going.

Looks like you have an ally in the form of Motley Crue's own Tommy Lee: Tommy Lee hits out at artists for promoting music and tours during LA wildfires: “Nobody gives a f**k”

It's the small venue thing for me, I'm probably in the minority in that I've liked Kasabian more and more over the years, so have only ever seen them in huge venues. I think Manchester Arena is the smallest!

Add Blossoms in who I love and it'd be worth the trip down. Going to join the queue, I've got to win one some time!!

Would love to have seen Muse in such a small venue too

Mid level acts that arent liquid rich are gonna keep announcing stuff. If you want to criticize them all then go find every tour that dropped today and tell them theyre terrible people.

I'm not criticising anyone.

Says more about himself than about the one‘s he is criticising. Pretty egoistic to demand the world to stop only when you yourself are affected by devestation.

"One of the biggest disasters of all time"

While tragic that is a complete joke. There's been 12 deaths - about 1/5000th of the amount in Gaza

Apparently a comment says he was posting tours etc in the days following Hurricane Helene too (not checked)

What people don't seem to understand is that Tommy Lee - actual Tommy Lee!  from Motley Crue! - is affected by this, so therefore its one of the biggest disasters of all time, ever.

Yeah you can compare death tolls and people affected, but previous ones havnt involved Tommy Lee. Perspective

No scramble at all. Just got 2 tickets with no problems, seems to be some left. £90 a pop may have put some off.

f**king hell we're properly over the cliff edge if tickets for Blossoms + Kasbian in 2025 are £90.

Expand

Its for charity at a small venue

Given Pendulum were £70 last year seems pretty decent value in comparison - Kasabian are a much bigger act + you get blossoms a pretty big support
