A long way from the £55 I paid to see Muse & The Vaccines do a War Child gig in 2013 then. And that felt like a lot at the time.

Yeah I paid £20 (+ fees) for The 1975 play to 600 people at The Dome Tufnell Park in 2017 on their second album cycle. But that seems like an anomaly as they have spiked the cost in recent years

Given Pendulum were £70 last year seems pretty decent value in comparison

Fwiw those tickets didn't sell out and I picked up a £15 ticket on a seat-filling website a couple days beforehand. Just further proving your point

I don't particularly mind about the cost of these shows as it is a charity thing so, like, sure. If they are on the expensive side then, then the money goes to a good cause. I don't know the split between raffle/direct sales but am always surprised some tickets pop up on seat filler sites. Might be worth keeping a look out closer to the time. I remember some cheap seats for Aitch appearing last time out

Yeah was talking about the price elsewhere re pendulum, I remember it coming up but couldn't make the date for some reason.

It was the same night as Chase & Status at drumsheds which is likely why it struggled

f**king hell we're properly over the cliff edge if tickets for Blossoms + Kasbian in 2025 are £90.

Just paid £70 for Basement Jaxx at Dreamland.  I don't think many big gigs will be much cheaper than that this year sadly.

Turns out I could've used the example that I saw Kasabian at a WarChild gig at the same SBE venue in 2014 for £50 tbf. That was fun and also one of the hottest gigs I've ever seen.

But yeah I'm aware the price of these things has escalated sharply in the last 5 years in particular.

I think the fact a lot of stadium-size acts are selling out with tickets in excess of £100 a ticket is giving everyone else ideas that this is now what they should be charging. Which feels like the moment it prices me out given my reluctance to go above £90 and outright refusal to go over £100. But it is what it is I guess.

Says more about himself than about the one‘s he is criticising. Pretty egoistic to demand the world to stop only when you yourself are affected by devestation.

I'm aware this debate might be going on for a while tbf. After all, it's award season with things like Oscars and Grammies and there's that question on whether it's appropriate to have such big celebratory events while at the same time knowing they employ a lot of people and there's people still recovering from the writer/actor strikes and even the pandemic that could use the work or even just a lark.

It's like stuff I saw on Reddit from Angelinos saying the Just Like Heaven line-up accidentally leaked on billboards is something they wanted to give them something to look forward too.

But yeah I'm aware there's a give and take. I'm aware if you're affected by a big thing like the LA fires, you're gonna be upset, but equally, if there's stuff to be announced, it can't be deferred forever.

Nine Inch Nails a fascinating one, because they did one of the best gigs I've ever seen in my life, and saw them over the same weekend that I caught Prince. (Not sure that weekend will ever be topped musically in my life.)

Could be tempted, but would need the onsale to wait until I've filed my taxes!

considering the losses that occurred due to the fire esp music history wise its fair to stop things. And yes, it leaked. Billboard company messed up. Only half though

Having to wait an additional week or two for a Beyonce tour announcement is hardly the biggest cross to bear either.

Expand

Beyonce's mother has said her house burned down in one of these LA wildfires, so I can imagine that would mean the Knowles family probably wouldn't be in the mood for a big thing like this either.

Wow £90 for that is crazy!

It was £75 to see Kasabian on their own at Co-Op, so adding Blossoms and the novelty of seeing them at such a small venue it kind of fits in context

Got myself sorted on the pre sale this morning, train sale made it cheap for travel and got a reasonable hotel rate. Looking forward to it

I did think the arena show was cheaper tbf.

Although would've thought The Streets was a big name support act to be going on with.

I'm not familiar with Laufey but a Google does say she did such an orchestra-backed gig so... fair dos and fair play. Some stadium acts have talked about bringing an orchestra with them for years without committing so good for her to just get in and do it no messing.

Presumably the names on the Just Like Heaven line-up is a first announcement with further to come down the line. Or the leaked names by the billboard firm who didn't get the postponement memo, anyway.
