Had a grim old time listening to that Migos album. A few wobbles aside, I've generally found to enjoy new hip-hop as the years have gone on but the whole trap/mumble genre is the point where I'm starting to feel my age.

Yeah I like that from C Barn. Its kinda weird to hear something so polished from her, but it works like.

Courtney Barnett has about 3 songs that are just outside of the category of banger, other than that she's a complete also-ran.

I think she blew all her catchy and clever songs on her early EP's. It just sounds like Kate Nash at 33rpm at this point.

Fucking hell that new Muse song is shite. Wonder if they're still planning on doing the next album stripped down/back to basics and these standalone singles are them getting the stupid shit out of the way or if they've just decided to backtrack on that and this is what they're sounding like now.

Mentions it here about the next one, although this is Muse so I fully expect this idea to be thrown out of the window the moment they enter the studio. Seems like they just can’t help themselves but sound overblown and ridiculous these days.

Listened to the new Pianos Become The Teeth album a few times and I'm not at all feeling it. While it has grown on me it's just a bit boring really. They were better at making Post Hardcore

I'm not sure on how I feel about it as a '2018 release', but the most important thing is that it's still fucking great. Some songs haven't been touched, which is a good thing, and some have been improved, which is also a good thing. And now you can pop it on in front of people and it doesn't sound like some nerd crying into a Dictaphone.

Haha I'm keeping an updated list as I go along. Reckon I've listened to more new albums already this year than I had done by December in the last few years.

Me too. I keep a running tab on my phone. 

Sad. But I love it. 

CSH album is great, I need more listens but deffo one of my favourites.

Aye I've even made a release schedule on mine, too. Sad but it's meant me listening to way more new stuff than usual this year.

I thought there were a few good songs on her debut but was overall a bit disappointed after the early EPs. I really like the new single though, seems closer in vibe to History Eraser/Avant Gardener.

Only just got round to giving the new Ought album a proper listen but it's so good! Loving this new direction they've taken after initially being wary of it. Some of these songs are so goddamn catchy.
