This is a hot take, Alex Turner in my opinion radiates stage presence, think he's got a lot of persona and interacts with the crowd well, maybe not so much now as he did when he was younger and just starting out though (when it was about nights out in sheffield rather than a hotel on the moon)

in the old days yeah, but doing extravogant movements isnt the same as stage prescense, which seems to be all he does nowadays. when you see them play they very clearly dont wanna be there, just there for a paycheck. only people who enjoy them live are 14 year olds who have never been to a gig before, but yh in videos they look better than what they actually are

If she can't handle you at your worst she doesn't deserve you at your best, chin up chick

Thanks mate.

She broke the news to me on text while watching Blossoms 'Your Girlfriend'.

I said to my mate, I'm going to the loo while I didnt really know what to do. Bought two Smirnoffs and sat down watching the boring Blossoms set. Picked myself up for 21p and Posty who were actually alright.

Not funniest memory but certainly the most vivid is for sure seeing my mate get his wrist band cut off by stewards and walked out of the entrance/exit because he tripped over a discarded tent that was already in the walkway covered in mud, swore loudly, picked it up and threw it behind him. The stewards thought he had ripped someone’s tent up and launched it. It didn’t matter how much we protested his innocence, they saw what they wanted to see and threw him out. It was a bummer.

Kind of funny the next day, however, as he had to get jump started by some randoms because he had fallen asleep in his car with his heater and lights on after being booted out

In fairness if you were watching Blossoms then getting dumped was only the second worst thing that was happening to you at that moment in time.

How about acts you were sure would eventually go on to become headliners but never fulfilled that potential you saw?

The Vaccines.

Bloc Party. The way they got booked three years in a row in high main slots (including two consecutive subs) in the late 2000s, it felt like R&L were grooming them to step up to headliners.

I also remember a lot of people thinking Kaiser Chiefs were dead certs to headline one day.

I wasn’t on this board at the time, but I remember NME hyping up Klaxons as potential future headliners in like 06/07.

I was sure that Iggy Azalea would be one of the biggest names in Rap of the 2010’s. Boy was I wrong on that one.

wish we had picadilly at reading

get yourself up to Leeds, the nightlife there is unbelievable, three different late night stages plus a silent disco and all the rides are outside the arena and open till late, plus theres camp DJ's dotted around the campsite that play till early morning too, Reading has its perks too like having shops near by and a better layout but i've got a soft spot for leeds
