argh. Cant stop reading this thread even though I know I can't go. Kudos to you Glastoworker for making it happen with everything you've got going on but that walk on crutches from stratford station to the stadium would finish me. Why isnt it the O2? so much more accessible.

Thanks - its not crutches - its a walking stick - very handy for any muggers who are hanging about on the route - No way will I be using Stratford Station as I don't know it so have no clue if there is stairs + trying to walk though crowds is something that would be very tricky and its a longer distance. So its London Overground to Hackney Wick as I reckon it will be less crowded and I know there is a ramp down from the platform to the street { and on the way back they have a ramp on the other side as well } - I can get up/down stairs ' but very slowly ' so at a busy station I have to sit and wait until the platform is clear - I am lucky as the Council moved me to a Housing trust tower block that is attached to a shopping arcade and my local Asda is only yards away and even that has a handy bench in the middle - so I don't have to walk far just now. I should be looking forward to it but I have never attempted to walk so far before { since the Operation } and until I get into the park I will be anxious - all I am going to do is take it in stages - I am not in any race - The Big Challenge will come at the end and I just hope they open all exits - I was at the big Queen Concert at Wembley { the last time Freddie Mercury was there } and there was a balls up with the exits so there was only two exits open and once we started walking though the tunnel we realized that there was a big problem but we were unable to turn back - all it would take is a few people tripping and we could all go down - that for me was the most dangerous situation I have ever been in { and I was born in Glasgow } - I have been to Wembley loads of time but that was the only time I really felt in Danger - no way will I go though that again.Anyway assuming I do get out I then have to retrace my steps back in the dark { pain in the arse that my phone does not have GPS } but if its very crowded - I will sit on the grass and wait until its clear. There is lots of trains so I am in no rush.Well you never know you may spot a ticket that suits you - good luck.

Loads of stairs at Stratford iirc. That may be because I went through the shopping centre. Given it's such a new station though I would imagine it was designed with the requisite facilities.

At two for £70 I'm kind of tempted to do Friday as well now. Bargain of the decade that. Can't think of anyone to split with who can come up with the dosh and the time at short notice though.

Getting excited now and hope I can get a good nights sleep tonight as it will be knackering tomorrow. Doubtful though as my body clock is shot from shiftwork (and being late all of the time) and I've slept most of the afternoon . You can't even grab a few zeds on the train these days as they don't stop talking to you.

My only dilemma now is which bloody train to catch? Seems like I have a choice between getting there way, way too early or just by the skin of my (non existent) teeth.

Hope all goes well GW. The O2 is much nearer the station than the London Stadium is, especially the way they funnel you on event days. Interestingly they do mention accessible shuttle buses from platform 13 of Stratford Underground to Bridge 5 but the email they give to ask about it isnt active which doesn't fill you with confidence.

After finding out that lucky dips were still on sale, I spent most of the weekend, plus tonight, trying to convince anyone I know and trust that it's too good of an offer to be turned down.

Personally I wasn't too bothered. I've got a ticket for tomorrow (Tuesday). Wasn't really looking for someone to go with. I just thought some people might appreciate the heads up for the Friday.

They all agreed, but nobody I told could make it. "I'm working", "I'm already going to a gig", and "Damn it, I'm off but I've got the kids", being some of the responses.

Well, I've found someone to go with on Friday. Practically begging me to "Go Dutch" with them.

It's NOT a date! It's a gig of convenience. Honestly? If they were on sale as singles, I probably wouldn't have mentioned it to said person. "We may get split up", "You may get a ticket right at the very back (you do know what the phrase "lucky dip" implies, right?)", "We're going to have to queue at the box office for about an hour", "You don't like crowds  etc.

It was hard to say no after looking for people who I thought would really appreciate the heads up and didn't, and then finding someone who actually really, really wants to be there!

So see you tomorrow and Friday then :)

Thanks - I will make it - all it takes is time .

If I had been fitter - I would have split it with you but I know ' one adventure per week is enough for me .'

Its so funny on FB - there is posts going up { where a person has clicked they are going } for two friends who I know are not going Tonight - they must have miss read it - anyway it took me on the FB tour page and there is Tons of posts from people selling at face value including this one

'Selling 5 tickets for 75p each! - I can meet before the show and pass the entrance together to be sure that tickets are not fake '

but I suspect its not £0.75 but £75.00

Now I have not done a complete survey but there does appear to be more people ' claiming to be selling ' than people wanting to buy + lots who have been scammed and even a few ' who have not received their e-ticket ' so its a right mixture.

Good luck over your train and have a good night tonight and Friday.

So I’ve just got an email saying they advise to collect Lucky Dip tickets between 1 and 3! So.... guessing they do just give you your tickets rather than the previous emails saying you’ll be taken into the stadium

Is that for today?

If so that's interesting, because I didn't think they were opening the bridges to the island until at least three and the box office is on the island. Looks like they may not be enforcing the bridge points then. Does your email mention a particular bridge to cross?

Mentions both Bridge 5 and 1.  Box office B is open from 1 for collection

well now that IS interesting as I could pick them up at one via a taxi and then give them to someone at work if they were standing tix. they cant enforce giving them out at 1pm and then keeping you there all day unless they are wristbanding in some way?

It does say in the email you need to arrive with your guest, so suggests there must be something like a wristband or a holding pen or early access to the arena...or actually more likely that you get your tickets and are escorted to a queue to wait for it to open.

Surely you can’t collect at 1 and then be expected to wait 4 hours until the venue opens!!

Thanks for that. I'll have a look whilst there as reference for Friday.

Right. I'm off. A quick visit to 'spoons for brunch and then a train.

Everyone have fun.
