Well, they have a better chance now if they are female!

Nah, I don´t think so, I think it is just this years marketing jippo. The main consideration will still be if they have something relevant to offer and if they are a good live act. By coincidence this implied that in 2019 we would have a fair share of female artists.

I don´t see men exposing their penises, if that is what you mean.

Or should your opinion be that using women who bare their breasts in advertising is not sexist if you use the same number of men that expose their chests at the same time? Well, my opinion is that an organisation that has gender equality written all over their promo should be better than (and loses credibility by) using naked women in their advertising.

Breast is just breast, so why look at it different? Same with the music. If you guys think this is sexist, then you need to wake up and understand that we're almost in 2019 and not 1900... You and some other people here just prove the point Primavera is doing and why they need to do this.

Yeah, exactly. It’s marketing bumf but it’s less ‘affirmative action’ and more to do with celebrating changing attitudes. The Grammys feature many more women in the category nominations than they did last year; not because of anything deliberate but because talented women are getting more of an opportunity to shine nowadays.

Well I wasn´t talking about the music in my post. I had said before that I have no problem with the 50/50 split of the line-up.

Other than that, I hadn´t realized that in almost 2019 middle aged white men (Gabi Ruiz fits that description pretty well, doesn´t he) define for women when they treat them in a sexist way and when they don´t. Sorry for that. I always thought that was a pretty good definition of sexism - my bad. Seems I have gotten old.

Well his album is good, not one of the best of the year but good, maybe because he is spanish and famous so he can attract another type of audience, but totally makes no logic for me.

Remember that Primavera Sound is a Spanish festival first and foremost, for local Spanish audiences. It's now got this international audience of music-savvy bearded craft-beer-sipping hipsters because of the quality of the lineup, but never forget who its core audience is.

Woosh! It's strange and just sad that I have to explain why they did this in the video.

Both men and women flash their chest at the end, to show both should be treated equal. The discussion of women flashing their chest is strange and men flashing their chest is normal fits perfect "The New Normal" slogan. That you think women's chest = men's penis, just prove the point.

AFAIK, back in 2017 64% of the crowd was neither Spanish nor Catalan. One has to believe the international crowd has only grew ever since.

The top-10 visiting countries in 2017 were:  Spain (64%), Great Britain (17%), Italy, France, USA (8%), Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Norway and Israel(!)

My last post about this :

Do I understand what they want to say with it? Yes. Do I find it dumb? Yes. Do I find it sexist even with men baring their chests in the same video? Yes, of course. Do I think women's chest = penis? No. Did I say so? No. Do I think women's chest = men's chest? No. If you disagree? Fine with me. I'll go and enjoy the music.

speaking of that... the missing craft beer situation on Primavera should be solved

God yes, or at least something that's not Heineken. I drink wine and Bacardi when I'm at Primavera.

I keep hoping that since Heineken bought Lagunitas then that would make an appearance, but not happened yet. Heineken have other drinkable beers in their portfolio as well, but they keep pushing their vile shite at their branded events.

This is the line-up that Sound Australia will bring to Brighton in early May 2019. Probably - if they bring in the Aussie Barbecue for the Day/NightPro again, which I hope very much - the BBQ will consist of some of these:

Allysha Joy
Body Type
Cable Ties
Emerson Snowe
JEFFE
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Sons of the East
These New South Whales
Tropical Fuck Storm
SKYND

Tropical Fuck Storm are playing Azkena Rock, but my friends would be thrilled.
