Definitely backing Ajax in the CL now. Some fantastic play from them tonight.

Yup. And Real fully deserve to lose after Ramos got his deliberate yellow card.

Real had their entire season fall apart at home in the last well. Hilarious!

The sad thing for Ajax is they never get to keep this amazing young squads together as they are unfortunately a selling club. I think one of them is already off to Barca in the summer?

exactly.

Just by the averages City are likely to drop some points along the way, which could let Liverpool back into things.

Can't see it tho. Reckon Liverpool will end up with a bigger gap than now.

Liverpool haven't conceded a goal for the last 5 games.

It's too tight to call. Hard to see Liverpool as bottlers when they've lost one game all season in the league so far  though

Was listening to 606 podcast today and Chris Sutton actually hit the nail on the head.

Nobody was saying City were bottlers when they lost to Palace and Newcastle. The only people who seem to have bottled it are some of our fans who have thrown the towel in with 9 games to go. I’m sure there’s still a few twist and turns left to come and I’m incredibly proud of the team regardless of how it ends.

Plenty of time left for things to change but whatever you do, don't listen to Chris Sutton. Complete baby.

Everyone up for grabs from Madrid this summer. They really should've done it last year. Benzema 31, Ramos 33, Modric 33, Bale nearly 30 and crocked, Marcelo 31 etc etc. Shows how good Ronaldo is too.

Champions League success has been papering over the cracks. They've only won 2 leagues in 10 years. In a league with 3 good teams. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mourinho and 400m happen over the next year.

Could they afford that?

You'd think Hazard will be on their list.

edit: Also, someone is gonna snap up De Ligt soon enough, the guy is pure class.

Hazard is surely 150 million and 500K a week wages? Thats some outlay. When the whole team needs refreshing, 400 million is not going to get them much.

Last year of his contract plus with Chelsea's impending transfer ban, they may feel that if he is going, a replacement is needed fast, sounds mad but could see him going for 100 or less.

Anyway I reckon he stays ?

Madrid don't pay as much as you would think. Modric for example - the best player in the world  - is on 180k a week.

I pulled that 400k figure from the sky by the way. Could be more, could be less but they're in dire need of a big revamp. Hazard, a striker and a midfielder could do it. But they'll go big.

While true, what that stat doesn't tell you is Barcelona for some of that time were one of the best teams in history and for all that time had one of the best players in football history.

The best team in history with the best player in history.

But thats no consolation to Madridista!

Madrid do have a pattern of sorts though. Leave it too late, have a shite patch and then go out and spend. Did it with Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo and Figo and then in 09 when they bought Ronaldo, Benzema, Kaka and Alonso because they had a few shite years in the CL. Even as far back as Puskas and Di Stefano. This year will be the start of that cycle again imo so all the best players are up for grabs. Silly offers in for Mpabbe, Hazard, Salah et al.
