gregory
Shame it was all so predictable, but: That means no Muse IMO. I wonder who else they'll get now we can stop guessing these miserable bastards to play. Edited November 30, 2018 by gregory

Nicklord
So that theory about Exit having some time to sell promo tickets was correct
gregory
Quote Nmusic festival organization team stressed the importance of the announced headline show by The Cure at the upcoming festival edition: “INmusic festival has been steadily growing and nurturing its independent festival reputation but never compromising on hosting artists whose music shaped our world and made a cultural mark on generations. In this respect, a decade long dream has been fulfilled – to welcome The Cure to Croatia and to celebrate along with the band 40 years of truly pioneering music.”
Nicklord
This whole thing reads way too much like Exit's announcement. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this together actually

jjason
Someone sent me a notification that it was going to be the Cure so thanks for that, much appreciated Sir. Tickets booked for InMusic and arriving at the festival via Pula. Now hoping for Grimes, Neil Young, LCD Soundsystem, Sufjan Stevens, Robert Plant and Wolf Alice - i realise non of them are likely but you can dream:) This will be my 2nd visit to InMusic (there in 2017) and excited already

Wouldn’t be surprised if someone like 1975/Foals end up being a headliner. INmusic seem pretty pleased they got The Cure, they might think they alone are enough to justify the price knowing them. activean
A day after announcement i think it was a wise decision booking them. Keep in mind that this is Balkan, The Cure were once in Ljubljana 20 years ago and this is it and it looks like they're pretty popular here. We don't have great concert selection, if you want to see your favorite band you have to go to abroad. Some people work somewhere for like 400€ monthly, now imagine having a debt, a rent or a family, there is simple no money for 250€ festival or paying for 200€ single concert arrangement .. I'm trying to say that for many people having The Cure so close after 40 years is really something exclusive and that's why everyone looks so happy and that's why all this exaggeration just for the Cure that are everywhere next year. From Festival point of view, great booking. Personal not some big fan i hope they will change my mind in my favorite way - live on stage Looking forward for next announcements, next week maybe?
Andrej
In terms of popularity in home market, The Cure are by far the biggest name InMusic ever had. I understand some people look at it from international point of view, and consider names like Kasabian, Alt J, Foals , The 1975 big names, but all of them cant fill a big club here on their solo shows. The Cure themselves can easily sell 15,000 tickets here.
activean
Can someone check the last Paragraph from the news in Croatian language to confirm my translation? If i understand correctly, the tickets will be available from 2. February at all OTB bank offices around the Croatia for 499KUN, which is the same price as it is now, that makes me wonder if this is this actually the final price for 2019 edition? That wouldn't mean great price increases after all and weird market strategy( or tickets are selling so good..). Could it be cheaper only at this offices for Croatians only or maybe it is just a mistake? Last year final price was somewhere near to that or just a bit cheaper right? gregory
OK I have a new theory for MUSE (I still think they are way too expensive/big to play but I don't want to let the dream die)... They still haven't sold out Budapest or Prague yet, maybe they have to sell these out first before they can be announced..? Also it would give INmusic a chance to raise the price again (to 599kunas or something) before that announcement... Are there any other festivals in Europe on June 23/24/25/26 they might play instead? We need to figure that out.

I'm not aware of any other major festival that would fill the gap as well as INmusic, so it might happen.

Prague won't sell out because the venue has a capacity of 50-60k. I would be surprised if Muse could sell so many tickets over here.
clasher
You're forgetting Graz, which is the closest venue to Zagreb (capacity around 10k i believe). Don't have a clue how this is selling thoguh.

About lineup, i'm trying not to put my hopes on Muse, IMO Weezer, Mumford and stuff like that are more possible, still the best they can offer with budget limits they have. Some media also reported The Cure as the main name of INmusic but it is a matter of media summarizing, how should they know .. Anyway, the question now is are we gonna any new name in the following week ? ?

Around this time last year (Dec 6th) Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were announced and tickets rose from 349 to 399, with QOTSA, Skunk Anansie, David Byrne, and Frank Carter & TRS already announced. By Christmas The Kills and Alice in Chains also announced. (by the way just had fun reading through last years thread and the whole third headliner debacle... )
