Alt-J seemed to be part of that critically beloved crop that loads of people touted as "the next big thing", only to peter out when it really mattered for reaching that next level.
Oh Yeh, I forgot about that. I did watch it, pretty damn depressing. Although it felt familiar. I've watched all of the public service announcements put out in that era via Youtube, and it plays out like a dramatisation of those. I noticed there's a lot of references to those public service announcements, and constant use of the sounds from them too. I'm guessing the piece was inspired by them. I may even have seen it before, when very young (born in the early 80s.)
But yeh, good piece of drama, well written, it's just really depressing and sobering watching it now, given the current world climate.
I still don't understand why ET is burning when the first bomb drops, googled it, and I'm not the only one to spot it and question why. No explanations though.
Wind is just picking up here now, some strong gusts, and we're not in the path at all... 😬
Might be a daft question, but are Mike Skinners DJ sets similar to The Streets Fabric Presents album, because I heard it last week and it took my head off, loved it.
