  1. 1. If The Cure were to headline would you be there? I'm intrigued due to the varied opinions of them on here.

    • Yes - Definitely, regardless of who else is on the other stages.
      209
    • More than likely - Depending on strength of the clashes on other stages.
      262
    • Unlikely - Know a couple of songs but there would probably be something else on you'd watch instead.

    • No - Never been a fan so will definitely be elsewhere.

Can't believe they've brought out their shitest song on a couple of the recent gigs, Hot Hot Hot!!!, terrible terrible song. Hope they don't play it in Leeds!

I'm more disappointed that M was featuring earlier on and now seems to be dropped again...bloody typical! Hopefully it comes back for Dublin.

It looks like they've played it once? Setlist.fm says it was a tour debut in Florence. Funnilly enough though - was talking to the friend I'm going to Glasgow with the other day and we both said how much we enjoy Hot Hot Hot!!!, but didn't think it had a sniff at being played.

There have been so many songs they've included on a one-off on this tour so far, I feel it's going to be a like a roulette wheel. I'm holding out for any of Closedown, The Figurehead, Doing The Unstuck, The Drowning Man and Charlotte Sometimes of those that have been seen so far. If they wanted to throw in The Funeral Party for good measure I'd literally die happy.

thought they'd played it more than once but i was wrong, one time too many imo!

i hope they're on the circuit next year as would like to catch them again! (not even seen this gig yet!)

Played another new one last night, 'A Fragile Thing'. This album is hopefully not too far away. Could see an announcement after the tour ends with some additional rest of world dates.

Perhaps some festivals in Europe next year?

Well, it had to be the way 😅 all of those gems that have been littered throughout the sets all over the tour were absent in Glasgow tonight. No Closedown, no Figurehead, no Other Voices, no Charlotte Sometimes, no Doing the Unstuck, no Hot Hot Hot. And no Plainsong or Disintegration, though I can abide that a bit better as I've heard them before.

Still, with that little disappointment aside, it was still a phenomenal show. I cried a lot - and for me, that's saying something as I cry a lot at gigs anyway. The band sounded incredible. Robert, flawless. And he seemed as happy and buoyant in mood as everyone has been saying lately. Seemed genuinely moved by the reception of the crowd at the end. I can only pray that this is not a final outing, and they'll be back on the road again soon. I will follow them anywhere.

Loved the setlist tonight! Would have liked Charlotte Sometimes but the run of Faith, A hundred years and a forest was sublime, what an encore!!(second one) I swear his voice gets better every time I see them! Fantastic night in Glasgow!!

I also thought they were brilliant. One of the best value gigs I’ll ever see, £50 before fees for one of my favourite bands supporting and then 2 hours 45 of The Cure.

I was pretty happy with the setlist. Sure, I’d have liked Closedown or Disintegration in there but getting a few from Pornography in there as well as Burn, Faith and The Last Day of Summer suited me just fine. Thew new sounds sounded better than I expected too. I don’t they have another Disintegration or Pornography in them but they might just have another Bloodflowers, which is good enough for me.

His voice is ridiculously good this far into their career, there can’t be many singers who sound that good (maybe even better?) than they did 40 years ago.

A monumental, triumphant return to Glasgow last night, after the memorable Bellahouston Park gig three years ago, which was their first Scottish appearance in 27 years. The show was a complete sell-out.

I don’t have a complaint about the setlist, either. I, too, would have loved to hear Plainsong and Disintegration, among others, but instead we got Faith and One Hundred Years. They are usually alternated night to night, and I had heard the former in recent years, at Hyde Park and Bellahouston Park.

A night of perfection.

Plainsong was the biggest miss for me but other than that, incredible set.  It was only when I was getting our tickets out in the queue that I realised it was "only" £50 - that probably seemed expensive a year ago when they went on sale but is now way lower than what seems to be the going rate for arena standing - and as you say, take into account a 2 hours 45 minutes set time and it was incredible value.

Please could someone let me know what time The Cure have been finishing on this tour? Thanks in advance!

not any of these above but from what I've been seeing it's around 11pm, which if it's the case i'll likely have to miss BDC to get my train tonight 😞

Pretty much bang on 11pm on Sunday. The Twilight Sad were on 7-7:45 then The Cure around 8:10-11.

Yeah, this is right @Odessa - on their Instagram stories they announced they would be on stage at 20:15 but it was definitely only ten past when they walked out. Not that I imagine you'll want to be cutting it that fine anyway!
