jparx
Forecast from the BBC looks quite grim until you look at each day specifically. Rain forecasted over three days, but actually looks to be very little in the grand scheme of things. I appreciate a small amount of rain can quickly become a deluge, but equally a small amount of predicted rain can miss you entirely.
Duggyfresh44
Well some of the options on the table from Gav's video earlier today Andy the Netweather guys have me seriously worried. One of them is a total washout.

Pretty much this really. All about that low. Also, if other models start to agree with the GFS it gets more interesting.
Dave_c
I think we should apply to the Guinness World Records for the longest weather discussion for a single event in history. We have been talking Glastonbury weather since October last year - insane, and we still don't know if it's going to rain or not.

The 06z Somerset ensembles for GFS are out Shows the low will encroach on the festival weekend according to the mean of all 20 runs in the 06z suite - however the precipitation mean shows damp conditions but certainly not downpours Edited June 18, 2019 by Aragorn

Glasto Weatherwatch
GFS 12z is basically showing the warm air not making it in, quite a different run. Much cooler. Still not a great amount of rain.

Looking at the latest weather doesn't really help, there at odds with each other. What we need is no real heavy rain from beginning of next week, thousands tramping all over the place from Wednesday will soon churn it up if its very wet. Myself I would be happy with cold and dry, not sunny and wet underfoot. It will be what it is, nothing we can do about it. 2013 was minimal - I think 4mm rain and most of it was Thurs evening for an hour or so. Unremarkable in terms of temps/sun but dry and no mudbath. Give me that all day long..

briddj
Here's the 12Z in summary. High pressure: Pressure still building in from Friday. The plume is still there as before, so that's a long run with it present but we need other charts to confirm. Pressure still sinking away on the Friday with the low coming in over the weekend but not commanding it. Precipitation: Still showing a fair bit of rain overnight into the Monday, but most of it passes west and north. Tuesday is then essentially dry. Wednesday, there is still that band of heavy rain lurking south of the country just before the gates open but it is now staying in the channel. Instead, there is some troublesome rain showing for around 6pm and through the evening. Rain clears overnight then it's dry all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Still a fair bit of rain around on Sunday afternoon onwards. Temperatures: Monday 21, Tuesday 24, Wednesday 21-22, Thursday 22-23, Friday 19-21, Saturday 20-21, Sunday 21 So we have lower temperatures now which is much more comfortable. Almost perfect temps I'd say. Could do to lose the Wednesday eve and Sunday rain.
