Duggyfresh44
It's enough. Especially on top of the Mon/Tues rain. It's going to get churned up. Might not be too bad, but it will get churned up.

What he said. It’s unrealistic to think it won’t shower at times - it usually does. I don’t see any forecast that is going to create a mudbath currently. Believe me I want to remain as positive as anyone but as time goes by, more and more rain is being forecast for the start and middle of next week. Not being funny, but I'm no novice - this will be my 16th Glastonbury. And I know that the kind of rainfall being predicted now is going to damage the ground. How much is what concerns me now. Aye, but as has been discussed here a lot, not all mud is equal! I think the memory of 2016 followed by 2017 is making us all think in extremes....and we've forgotten that a lot of the (muddy) middle ground is fine, and (let's be honest) to be expected at UK festivals

briddj
Here's the GFS 00Z. High pressure: Pressure building to a high on Wednesday, but not as high as before. And now the low pressure fights back much earlier than on the previous run to get into the site on Thursday and doesn't really give in. Precipitation: Little bit showing for this Thursday, then dry Friday. Few showers on Saturday. The Sunday rain appears from 3pm through to 6am Monday. Now dry all day Monday before some more heavy rain on Tuesday afteroon. Fairly dry on Wednesday, but then the heavy rain appears again Wednesday into Thursday. Dry on Thursday, Friday and Saturay ... and a small amount of rain on Sunday. Temperatures: Rising to 19-20 over this weekend, great for drying. Monday 22-23, Tuesday 19-20, Wednesday 22-23, Thursday 26-27, Friday 19-20, Saturday 18-20, Sunday 17-18 So, this definitely is not a great update with that low we've been worried about muscling in. BUT do remember that this is a ROLLERCOASTER. What is also important is, in this run, those huge temperatures on Thursday would dry the ground in no time. Do not underestimate the speed at which the ground would dry up in that heat. The Wednesday heat would do a fair bit of the donkey work too, though it might not be pleasant for getting in... Don't get too downtrodden, we've had a great couple of days of updates. This is only one. Can't do the 06Z. Actually have to do something called work! gherkin8r
Just want this all to be over now. I can read you like a book. And not a very good book. On a serious point, I cant understand how 27 isnt too hot to handle. No shade. 2010 was the year saw the least amount of acts & we left straight after Stevie as couldnt handle the morning in that heat. Everyone is built differently. Im built for attending the coldest football ground in the world at minus 3, with no hat on cos I'd get too hot. You obviously are not.

Doug85
Amusing how some are losing their shit over a small amount of rain over a few days claiming the ground will be churned up. People seem to forget we still had some rain in 2017 all be it early mornings and then it dried up. Whatever happens at this stage it would take some biblical rain for 2016 style conditions now, I think we are heading for a mix of weather with some rain but warm enough to dry it during the day. I'll take that in comparison to what it could have been.
