The threat of one storm is one thing. Days of warnings and multiple storms is quite another and dare I say it a potential health and safety issue.

Calm down dear! We don't know where the thunderstorm bands will even be yet. They might not even be to the west.

Yep some ridiculous scare mongering and panic going on. What’s being predicted is essentially ‘weather’ entirely normal ‘weather’ at that. Last time I checked the odds of getting struck by lightning are pretty high. Nobody is going to be flying a kite up the top of Pangea during a thunderstorm.

There’s also a fuck ton of pylons, metal stages and Pangea that will be far more attractive to lightening than a man led in a tent.  Why do you think you see big lightening rods around shopping centres etc..

It’ll be grounded with a lightening strip. Usually a lead strip that just goes into the ground like church steeples

Not to be a bit salty. Been to a german festival 2016. Pretty much same forecast. Expected one odd thunderstorm. What we got was 3 days of thunder and rain and a cancellation after one day. Shows NEED to be stopped during a storm like that. Being in a huge crowd in front of a stage is very damn dangerous in that situation. I'm not trying to be negative, but several thunderstorms at a festival is my personal worst case.

Rock am Ring. Authorities revoked licence due to public safety. I am not saying that will happen here, but you can bet your arse Somerset/Mendip emergency planning are watching very closely.

It’s forecast until Tuesday, we arrive Wednesday, what’s the problem ? Might be muddy but not going to be lightening Wednesday onwards ?

Its not like the forecast is "Thunderstorms definitely 100% going to hit Pilton all weekend at Glastonbury". The forecast at the moment is a chance of thunderstorms mainly before the festival. The main word there being 'Chance'. We'll be ok, its less than a week now peeps, start getting hype!!

I can see my house in that photo!   (Talking about photo of Golden Gate bridge plus lightening.  Apparently there were 4 pages of comments posted in the 10 seconds it took me to type the reply.)
