Best European festival line-up this year?

This for sure, although you are hitting a bleeding spot.

 

Anyway, for how things turned out for most of major festival, I have to reckon that - although I dont like specialized festivals - this year Download is the most complete (and most serious in marketing) festival, hands down

Impossible for anywhere to match what Mad Cool delivered in terms of line-up last year.

Good Points! I agree with them all. 

Also, it seems many bands choose to play their own stadium tours as well and do fewer festivals like for ex. Muse.

American festivals are seemingly becoming more popular especially in the last few years I feel, seems to be more and more of them which will take a few bands away from europe
