Anyone got any ideas of who could be playing/headlining this year?

Mr eFests Sir? Any ideas?

Personally thought at the start of the year that maybe Kylie might do some of these smaller fests seeing as she got announced for Scarborough was it? Thought maybe Paul Heaton might be in with a shout of headlining?

In case anyone was wondering what was going on with Bingley Music Live this year, here's a post from their Facebook page:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE!

Bingley Music live will be taking a year off in 2019.
The three-day music event, which has been a popular fixture on the festival scene over the years, will be taking a fallow year in order to give the land and local population a break as well as giving the organisers a chance to take a breath and evaluate the future delivery of the festival.

We know Bingley Music Live will be missed by the many people who have grown to enjoy it. We’re also aware that the event has been a boost for the town’s economy and we’ll be working with local Bingley organisations to look at what else we might be able to do in the area. We believe that taking a year out will allow for the delivery in 2020 of a well-planned, financially viable and sustainable festival that provides a great experience for visitors to and residents of the district.

While there will not be a Bingley Music Live in 2019 there are still lots of great events across the district this year for people to enjoy. Some of which include the Dragon Boat Festival at Saltaire in June, Bradford Festival in July and the UCI cycling world championships at the end of September. More details on events around Bradford and district can be found here www.visitbradford.com/events"

A rather poor set of excuses. Fallow year?! It's hardly Glastonbury. It's a town centre park that has had successive dry festivals, so the ground is fine. The local businesses also rely on the additional income, so they certainly don't want a year off.

The local newspaper has also already run stories contradicting these reasons, citing a £300,000 overspend:

https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/17571026.late-decisions-over-bingley-music-live-2018-contributed-to-300000-overspend/

Noel Gallagher won't have come cheap, but the councilor quoted in this article blames poor ticket sales, despite the event seemingly selling well for the last 2 years, with weekend tickets selling out in record time.

However several people on social media have said the overspend was due to poor organisational decisions, resulting from the outsourcing of much of the running of the festival to another company for the first time last year. While this article puts the blame firmly with the council:

Whatever has gone on behind the scenes, I expect more will be revealled over the coming months. I hope it returns in 2020, as it's my local festival, and I always enjoy popping along with family & friends. It would be a huge shame for the local district if it is allowed to disappear due to organisational incompetence.
