Shanndy
So the announcement is next Wednesday, just noticed The Flaming Lips have announced The Soft Bulletin tour for early September and no Irish date, surely they’ll be turning up in Stradbally? Dr Baker
The Flaming Lips would be a welcome booking. Judging by other headliners doing the summer festival circuit, we could well get The Cure. I suspect Hozier and/or Snow Patrol could be booked as well. We usually get quite a few of the acts playing the End of The Road festival the same weekend and some of the acts there include: Beirut, Metronomy, Spiritualized, Courtney Barnett, Jarvis Cocker, Low, Goat Girl and Lets Eat Grandma. Other possibilities include: Tame Impala; Royal Blood, Foals, Oh Sees, Christine & The Queens,Gogol Bordello, Anderson.Paak, Eels, Sharon Van Etten, Aphex Twin, James Blake, Johnny Marr, Robyn, John Grant and The Waterboys My wish list would include The Specials, Anna Calvi, Ibibio Sound Machine, She Drew the Gun, Confidence Man, Cat Power, Steve Mason, Suede and Kraftwerk. Of course, FR could avoid booking most of the top alternative acts, as they have done in the past couple of years, and go for the more commercial acts. Which has made for rather disappointing line-ups as far as I'm concerned. But I live in hope. We'll see tomorrow. .

addicted2noise
Although it's missing a major hip hop act (was hoping for Anderson Paak) this is a really decent first announcement.

rubick
Alright lads! Hasn't been mentioned here but on the day of the announcement Echo and the Bunnymen put up a different poster on their Twitter feed that included Johnny Marr so expect him as an announcement later in the year. This year is lacking a big electronic act so far - I think maybe there will be an addition in that vein and Hozier will be maybe subbing on Sunday evening. pothead pixie
Well for the big electronic act I propose Aphex Twin, playing the weekend before at Rock en Seine in Paris, he hasn't played Electric Picnic yet but has played two Forbidden Fruits and Oxegen as the last camping festival he played. Judging by his recent US shows he as some amazing new music and his lights, visuals and lasers are second to none. Be it main stage or the Electric Arena marquee. rubick
I'd be more than happy with that, what a late addition that would be. Can't think of anyone I'd rather see more at Stradbally! Shades of a packed Little Bit Tent with the likes of Richie Hawtin or Andy Weatherall in there in years gone by. The latest poster has virtually nothing of interest for us in terms of headliners, Aphex Twin would be perfect. Sure we'd only be misbehaving in the woods anyway!
