Yes, Emily said in an interview that they didn’t have the slot the Killers filled until March. So they were maybe a back up at best but there was no grand masterplan for them to headline after their secret set.

What is the average Glastonbury goer? Because the people who go year in year out are of different ages, races and tastes... exactly why there manages to be a spread across however many stages.

I’m fairly ambivalent towards anything and whoever the organisers choose to pick to headline I will fully support.

Yep, of all festivals in the world there is no defined demographic. It’s just a selection of everybody.

Anyway, @Matt42 actually mentioned the 'average Glastonbury goer' as yet another poorly-executed potshot at me and my Foals stance because I said that the 'average Glastonbury goer' doesn't study Spotify streaming figures and venue sizes when it comes to when a headliner is big enough or not. When I said that, I pretty much mean people off of eFestivals who don't live and breathe this stuff.

The average person In general doesn’t do those things but the average efester does.

And therin lies the beauty of Glastonbury, why so many want to go, why it sells out before any acts are announced and what sets it apart from other festivals. Headliners make headlines for the media, I make up my own mind who to see and what to experience. The choices on offer whether it’s to hear a headline band, a folk group in the Avalon cafe or a wander into the healing fields make the glasto experience.

Apologies if this has already been discussed  - given that Lady Gaga's releasing a new album within the next few months, is currently performing a Greatest Hits set in Vegas (which ends in May), has said in the past how much she loves Glastonbury, and can count Emily Eavis as a fan (and possibly her kids?)... has she been discussed as a serious possibility for the headline slot?
