WG now was Glebeland then. The bar on the corner where you turn to go to the bandstand was halfway back towards the meeting point and, IIRC, Joe Bananas was on the Meeting Point xroads and used to be a good all night spot

One of the most popular spots before it became crewcamping was the Dragon's field (between Stone Circle and SE corner), I never camped there as it always looked like a steep slope, but I seem to remember reading about people making a dash for there as soon as the gates opened (back when most people didn't arrive until much later in the day, or even until the Thursday)

They only stopped doing so a few years ago. Had to tell a few folk that it’s crew only

My regular spot. I heard the clatter of the fence coming down from my tent in '95. Being the closest the dragon field then became extremely packed!

 

I think I got away with camping there for one more year after it became crew (before it was fenced off). Now I just do a walk through to look at it and shout 'cuckoos' over the heras
