Not sure I'll bother trying to see Example, if 17% of the people on site on Thursday night are going to try and fit in the Glade. I suspect the issue with William's Green on Thursday night has just moved somewhere else.

Kelis a slot or two lower and she'd get a big crowd, but a headliner option she is not!

I think Kelis will be alright. She's done a lot of collabs and got a surprising amount of biggish hits to roll out. Milkshake, Trick Me, Bounce, Millionaire... throw in a cover and she'll be fine.

Her 17% translates to about 26-30k of the festival depending on how many people are actually in attendance/not working, at that time. Not the biggest WH headliner, but not a bad showing at all.

I was just checking out Royal Blood vs the Churnups and Arctics though. They're on about 25% compared to Foos' 52% and Arctic's 64%. 

Gonna be some big old bloody churn right there!

Going from about 75k for Foos > down to half that for RB > back up to possibly 95k for the Arctics!

I know it's not an exact science, but it shows how likely a mass exodus is. Fred looks like he's gonna suck up quite a few of those leaving Churnups. Young Father's not so much.

I saw her on the Pyramid one year. Thought she was a good laugh. Had a decent crowd too. Up against AM and Hot Chip though, she's been dealt a tough hand. 

And she's going to do a lot better than WizKid on Other as well judging by the stats. He's not even on the list!

Also, WizKid isn't even on the bloody list of highlighted artists. 

Think he's gonna have a very VERY small Other Stage headline crowd.

That is insane. Surely that has to be a mistake?

Or has Emily/Glasto booking team got is so unbelievably wrong for a Friday Other headliner? They aren't usually that awful when it comes to programming are they?

 

I'm starting to feel really sorry for him.

95k people aren't going to see AM - the stats don't take into account.  I currently have 5 Friday headliners highlighted as I haven't decided.

Wizkid's crowd are not really the Clashfinder demographic, so stats are skewed.

How does it work with people like me who have about 5 headliners highlighted and will decide on the day who I see? I assume I am in the stats for each artist even though I can't possibly see them all. Apart from Sunday I am genuinely undecided who I will see for my headliners.

It's only strange in that it seems to have been a damp squib - he's playing Stadium shows in the UK, so isn't exactly 'too small' for that slow, I'm just not sure how well Afrobeats/Nigerian music translates to a Glastonbury crowd.

Plus, he's up against a bit of a monster in AM

Sure, that's a possibility and it's not an exact science, but with Elton and AM so high, Fred on about 51, Churnups, Blondie, Lizzo all on very high scores, there does seem to be a trend of who is gonna be more popular than others.

Other acts with "young" audiences have got healthy highlights, e.g. Sudan Archives (14%), Lil Nas X (24%), Fred (51%).

You said it yourself - it’s definitely an indication of likely busyness, but making any type of estimate of crowd size in numbers from it is really flawed.

afrobeats is also pretty big among lgbtq friends of mine , in fact the 5 of them going to glastonbury with me this year are all going to wizkid. so there is that. i still think his crowd wont reach the mixing desk, might barely get past the first barrier.

The “young” acts you quote have massive crossover appeal with older people - I’ll almost definitely see all three. But I have absolutely no interest in Wizkid.

Los Bitchos are doing particularly well due to the time of day they’re on and lack of decent clashes.
