Not trying to start an argument over the stats, but who are Wizkid's demographic?

Other acts with "young" audiences have got healthy highlights, e.g. Sudan Archives (14%), Lil Nas X (24%), Fred (51%).

Even total randomers like Los Bitchos have 14%...

All true - but Burna Boy from last year is actually a great example - if they did have a decent crowd they also are not in the top-100 CF stats from last years festival.  So the exact same as Wizkid.  Sudan Archives have been on the radio here a bit (mainly radio 6 probably), Lil Nas X is on before Elton so (clashfinder) people will have given them a bit more research [though many will still disappear for some food at that point].

You are.

In which case the stats are likely meaningless. I have 6/7 way clashes for about 90% of the festival. Apart from my couple of must sees (Lizzo and Elton) everything else for me is dependent on how I feel/weather. Some of the busier acts I have highlighted but in all honesty they probably won't win out of other acts on the day.

I think Wizkid falls into the unfortunate category of just not really hitting where people want at headliner time. I've actually quite liked what I have heard and wouldn't mind seeing him but he's probably unlikely to be what I want at headliner time. If he was lower down the bill I might have been more likely to give him a shot.

You said it yourself - it’s definitely an indication of likely busyness, but making any type of estimate of crowd size in numbers from it is really flawed.

Definitely can't look at crowd size, but business & spread across the site can be guessed at - just guessed though, I too will have 4/5 things highlighted at any one time 🙂 You can use it to do something like this (bearing in mind GnR double entry in the data, so I buggered that up when I did this):  [old data too...]

afrobeats is also pretty big among lgbtq friends of mine , in fact the 5 of them going to glastonbury with me this year are all going to wizkid. so there is that. i still think his crowd wont reach the mixing desk, might barely get past the first barrier.

Interesting. And do said friends do clashfinders do you know?

I was just checking out Royal Blood vs the Churnups and Arctics though. They're on about 25% compared to Foos' 52% and Arctic's 64%.

Gonna be some big old bloody churn right there!

Going from about 75k for Foos > down to half that for RB > back up to possibly 95k for the Arctics!

I know it's not an exact science, but it shows how likely a mass exodus is. Fred looks like he's gonna suck up quite a few of those leaving Churnups. Young Father's not so much.

A lot who are watching Churnups and Arctics will just stick around for RB too.  (I will be one of those heading to the Young Fathers after the Churnups)

I am planning on watching Leftfield at the Park on the Saturday before probably heading to the Silver Hayes (I might watch the last hour of GnR too). If Fatboy slim is expecting 35% of the site to be there, it could be absolute bedlam trying to leave the Park before he starts.

35.83+34.16+31.04+30.06+16.64+21.22=much more than 100.  Even before you take into account all the other stages which don't make this list with their Saturday headliner (like Mel C, bizarrely).  So, there's not a chance that even close to 35% of the site will be at Fatboy Slim.

Only act to make the top 100 on Avalon I think - that area will be very busy / I assume closed down (so not possible to do Lizzo > Mel C).  Absolutely 35% of the festival won't be at FBS, but 20% might - and the Park probably can't cope with that - so security will be running straight from setting up barriers at Mel C up to the Park.

Yeah, you are right.

Mel C - t's gunna be mental there. She finishes at half 10.  I think there will be a lot going from Mel C to the Park for FBS. I could be wrong, be I suspect that to be quite a popular route,

By that reasoning, 20% of people will also be at Chems and Lana, with even more at GnR due to the second spelling.  Still doesn't add up.

Yup, 34% of people have highlighted Chems, but their share of the top-100 acts playing at that (approx) time is ~21% - way more than are ever going to fit at Arcadia.

There are 2k acts on the clashfinder and we only have stats for 100 of them.  Clashfinder has 90+ stages, so many many other things on at the exact same time, plus many people just getting food or having a wander - and from the stats on Friday evening we only know about what's happening at 5 stages.  Plus we know we all highlight multiple things at any given time.  20% of the festival won't fit into Arcadia, but I'm still able to look at it and decide for myself that Chems, Mel C, FBS and Badly Drawn Boy will all be busy as f**k.

Adding both GnR spellings together, and then looking at their crowd portion (vs other Sat eve stuff in the top-100), they have 26% of the crowd (from 42% of CF selections) vs FBS who has 23% and LDR with 19%.  So the biggest crowd that night will be at the Pyramid, but it might not look that way on tv & Mel C ends 25 minutes before FBS starts, but would you have any chance of still getting into the area at that time?

So on the one hand I agree, the stats are a bit rubbish - but on the other I'm still spending way too much time looking at them 😄

I'm still none the wiser who Wizkid's demographics are tbh. Young? LGBT? Non-radio listeners? Do none of these people use Clashfinder? Surely, those demographics have highlighted other acts on the Clashfinder as well.

Anyway, I still think it's pretty amazing that his show is highlighted barely at all out of the "Big Six" from the Pyr. and Other headliners. Lana has a whopping 31% (more than Royal Blood and Lil Nas X - both around 23-25%). QOTSA as well with a decent 25% against Elton.

I know it's just a good indicator and not gonna be like that 100% on the day what with people highlighting multiple headlienrs etc, but still surprises me that he's barely represented.

I think some popularity of certain acts can be extrapolated but the demographic that use clashfinder is deffo not representative of the glasto crowd as a whole - looking back at the beginning of this thread and comparing who had big crowds from 2019 v who was popular on clashfinder shows that.

Los Bitchos are doing particularly well due to the time of day they’re on and lack of decent clashes.

Los Bitchos are this year's kikagaku moyo.

Perfect time to go chill in the sun at West Holt's, let the previous nights festivities evaporate away and slowly wind yourself up for round 4(?)...might even be helped with a little pint of brothers cider or two

What will be interesting is that I am pretty sure the festival get data from the app as well to help with their planning. Given how late the app dropped and the other alternatives that were available before I wonder how good that data will be.

They're on The Park right?

I could do with some help with clashfinder. First time I've tried to use it.

Made an account. Went to Wednesday. Managed to highlight something I wanted to see. Then managed to highlight a load of other stuff that I have no interest in and I don't seem to be able to deselect things. How do you do this?

Do I need to start another account and redo things?

On an android phone as my ancient desktop & browser won't play ball.

This will sound like a huge, sweeping generalisation, but minly Londoners who are into Afrobeat.  Outside of London, Afrobeat's popularity drops off a cliff, evidenced by the size of venues the artists play in the capital versus outside.  Whilst he's clearly successful enough to warrant the booking, I think this will likely be the smallest crowd at any large stage headline act all weekend.

Just my opinion, but having listened to his output I think it's sh*t.  The overused autotune on the vocals is like nails on a chalk board.

You should just need to use the same colour you highlighted an act with to deselect that act. I don't like the top to bottom column version and much prefer the full desktop version where it goes in rows. Not sure if you can select the desktop version though on your phone. For the phone version, I mainly just use it for the itinerary setting which lists all your highlighted acts into one long running order. Not sure if that helps much though 🤞

Musically, I'm not a huge fan, altho I preferred it to when I listened to Lil Nas X. There must be a huge number of people who've never heard of Clashfinder though or don't like to use it, but not sure how that relates to him or who's highlighted him or not.

I agree though with the size of his crowd. Compared to all the Other headliners, the Pyramid headliners and subs, as well as some of the headliners from WH and Woodsies, can't see him having a huge crowd. I'm sure it'll be sizeable on the night, but not in comparison to the other big hitters.

Thanks. Think I've got it sussed now.. Agree itinerary is useful. Better than my usual pen and paper system.

I'm guessing it's safe to log oot and all my selections will be saved?
