No goals from open play in 2 games is pretty bad for this attack I keep reading about how great they are.

To be fair they have been good all season, especially since lock down. Poor finishing last 2 games though, nice we've already got cl.

There is a difference between racking up the goals against Bournemouth and doing it when it really matters.  Are football fans outside England raving about a player like Rashford? I have my doubts.

Rashford has been poor in 2020, martial and greenwood have been class.

Has Greenwood scored against a decent side? Maybe he will one day be a great player, however for all the talk about the great attacking players Man Utd and England have, most have very little track record in big games. That isn’t to say they won’t in the future (neither do I assume they will) but I am not convinced the rest of Europe are quaking in their boots about these players.

Well after a shit week, that was a massive kick in the teeth.

Have to agree with what people have said regarding Pep in European football. Every year he has done it in the knock out stages, where he has come up with bizarre tactical changes and formations which we have never played before. Last nights was utterly bewildering and I still can't fathom it out. You can blame Sterlings miss or getting fucked over off VAR yet again, but ultimately last night was all on Pep. Players miss chances all the time. That was a bad miss, but ultinately Pep bottled it yet again last night and sent out the team with one arm tied behind its back.

Now regarding whether Peps time at City has been a disappointment. That is a resounding no. The football has been breath taking at times and a pleasure to watch. City have broken records that will probably never be broken, retained the title and he has become the first manager to ever win a domestic treble. Yet if I am going to be honest, If Mancini had been given the same players and investment, I reckon we would have won just as much and won the Champions League by now. It might not have been as pretty on the eye or broken as many records, but I think he would have won the champions league.

So it comes down to what do you want as a football fan? Is it all about winning trophies? For me its not, its about going to the match, having a beer, being entertained, the ups and the downs. Last night was absolutely gut wrenching and so frustrating. But, I would not have it any other way. City have been a joy to watch over the last few seasons. In a way its been typical City.

I mentioned on here previously that Houssem Aouar was a brilliant player. He proved it again last night.

Mate, I support West Brom, if there’s one thing I have no interest in it’s winning trophies.

Any cheap Fantasy football tips? Pereira doesn't seem to be listed yet so i guess he hasn't signed up.

Linking those two things together I actually forgot who Steve Walsh was, had to google his name and the article started "Apart from Jordan Pickford, all Steve Walsh's signings were a disaster"

Is it just me or what has happened to Hart, Pickford and De Gea never used to happen say 20 years ago and now it happens all the time? 140 international caps between them and 99 times out 100, that sort of established keeper really used to kick on in their late 20's and into their early 30's and get even better where by if you were to guess the oldest member of a team going with the keeper seemed a good bet.

I would have thought Hart would have wanted to play football instead of take the Richard Wright role for the rest of his career.  I agree about the keepers, but I guess the role of keeper has adapted over the years. Didn't VDS play for Man Utd until he was 40? I got the impression he could have done another couple of years as well.

Hart, Pickford, and De Gea were all always overrated. They were hyped based on potential that they never actually achieved.

Yep.. The degradation nowadays seems to be around shot stopping which with positioning used to be something that improved with age.

I was thinking it was something to do with the constant changing of the ball and its aerodynamics. That Mitre Ultimax seemed to be around for ages. Now they change the ball every year.
