Ah nice, we are on Weds. You going to see mates again? The London/Kent FA has, in all its wisdom, cancelled the league but kept the cups - with both cup matches being the next two Sats with no friendlies first! You?

Just managed to get through an hour without disgracing myself (kept a clean sheet) but the standard was poor. Got twinges in both legs despite moving as little as humanly possible. Slightly worried as the game I've signed up for tomorrow, I think they were all students and they were young/fit/good (could be a tad humiliating).

Not seeing friends yet, all my friends are where I used to live, I moved to a new area 4 years ago and have never been able to find any here.

Ahh good luck for tonight! Smash the water and nutrients today to aid the recovery, I'm sure you'll be able to outwit a few of em.

Youth and enthusiasm are no match for age and treachery 😄

Definitely not! I remember nutmegging a big experienced CB once, I also remember what happened 5 minutes later and why I wouldn't do it again 😂

Yup, remember similar experiences from younger days. Sooner or later there'll be a ruck or a maul, and those big old bastards will get hold of you. Bit like when Mickey Rourke handcuffs Elijah Wood to himself in Sin City 😄

When I was a student we used to play other uni sides on a Wednesday, but then on Saturday we were playing in the local RFU grassroots league. Invariably teams with some really gnarled old fellas looking forward to their Saturday afternoon beating up a group of students 😄

Haha. Yea they sure know how to get ya and enjoy doing so! I'm hoping that I'll be somewhat of a match these days, we'll see tonight if that's the case😂

Stretched properly and all good. Even did a fair amount of moving around in the 21 degrees.

Both games I've played, there's actually been a really chilled, friendly vibe. Everyone is a bit less competitive and just happy to be out and about playing again.

Typical fucking students.

No idea how this rates compared to some of the extreme hill rubbing done on here

Is that a Wales thing ?

You need a bloody big sheet of paper and good quality charcoal but you get some lovely landscapes.

Last one from me. Thank you to the believers. Royal Marsden charity has raised £275,000 so far, with more coming in at the end of this challenge. That makes me very happy. As I said in my first post, I have close connections with this hospital.
and now for a month of sit downs 😀❤️❤️

Oh man that was fun. Running around with a ball in hand and other people around.

Yeah, it's great being out, especially with the weather and in a group environment. I'm signing up to play football pretty much every day until the gym reopens now.

Managed my first ever half marathon this morning - 1.51.24 was my time, so very happy with that - but wow, that last km was very hard work!

Powered through by listening to the new Dry Cleaning album, For Those I Love and a bit of Mogwai. What are everyone else’s bank holiday fitness plans?

Nice one! Great achievement to tick off the list and great for first under the 2 hour mark!

Currently contemplating a longish run today but not set on distance yet and that will dictate the rest of the weekend.

With a birthday weekend and Easter over it's time to get back on the fitness trail, operation lose half a stone starts today.

Went to watch a local football match yesterday and even considering getting the boots back on!

First gym sessions booked for next week.  Not going to go OTT as I want to manage a balance with the strength training and maintaining running, so I've got afternoon slots booked in on Tue and Thu before rugby training.

The rugby work's pretty light as it's 3rd team stuff so can physically cope with doing both, and as they're both up in town it works well to fit them together while I'm up there.

Looking forward to getting some decent strength work done.  Need to get some core strength and a bit of mass back for when we start knocking seven bells out of each other again!

Finally getting back to somewhere around my best in terms of fitness - consistently running sub 20 min 5ks again for the first time in years - started back at football last night and gone over on my ankle and it’s ballooned when I woke up this morning. So painful to put any weight on it. That’s going to set me right back again for a few weeks at least!!
