Green Man 2020

Recommended Posts

As has been said, they're both amazing. It's been lineup dependent for me for the past couple of years, but am very likely to do both this year now work circumstances should hopefully allow. I did EotR two years ago, which was utterly incredible and I didn't think would ever be matched as a festival experience. Then I switched to GM last year because it was the greatest lineup I can recall seeing and it ran EotR very very close. I think the rain/mud and my girlfriend not being able to come were the biggest differences, which are obviously not really the fault of the festival! I'd say it's a dead heat and we're very fortunate to have both.

Anyone want to predict 10 acts they think will be announced? I’ll count them up and post the results on the 29/30th.

Caribou, Mac DeMarco, Fontaines D.C., Real Estate, Bat for Lashes, Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon, Weyes Blood, This is the Kit, Squid

What can I say? I want to win!

Love both festivals, EOTR probably just pips GM for a couple of reasons in my opinion.

The family prefer GM but I'm just in love with Larmer Tree Gardens having been to every Big Chill there back in the mid 90's and then EOTR from the first year. That site just holds so many special memories. We also have a lot more friends who attend EOTR whereas none of them really go to GM, although having been to Settlers for the past 6 years we've built up friendships with other random punters from around the UK who also go every year.

You can't really go wrong with either. The only bad choice to make is not going to either!

Echo what others have said, they're both fantastic festivals. I prefer Green Man as that's the festival my friends go to. I honestly thought the eotr line up in 2018 was as good as it would ever get, but then green man came along in 2019.        Sitting on the terraces overlooking the mountain stage is my happy place.

But the woods area of eotr is incredible. I also feel eotr does late night much better.

We're very lucky to have two truly excellent festivals in the UK.

Hope you’re right.

really really want Bat for Lashes and Weyes Blood to be there but nothing to place them there yet as far as I can see.

Can't wait and the line up always tends to introduce me to plenty of stuff but I'll go with:

- Angel Olsen

- Soccer Mommy

- Dan Deacon

- Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard

- Moses Sumney

- Sleaford Mods

- Caribou

- Waxahatchee

- Nadine Shah

- Weyes Blood

Not sure if these bands are all touring this summer. A stab in the dark! Would love Sleater Kinney or Bikini Kill but won't add them for fear of jinxing.

If it weren't for the eternal queue of weddings then I'd def do both GM and EOTR!
