lessthanwill1
I like this analysis better! I hadn’t appreciated the mirror “mad” aspect to it which correlates with the “fever” element. We shall see tomorrow (I’m nervous)
Guy Incognito
I wouldn't be too disheartened if she was announced for GM and not EOTR as I've got a ticket to see her in London. Generally Green Man do seem to get the bigger headliners, excluding a few examples of course. Vampire Weekend, Tame Impala and Sufjan Stevens spring to mind. It wouldn't surpise me if both festivals wanted Angel O and Bright Eyes but they ended up with one each.
SaintEwart
I'd much rather Bright Eyes for GM as got Angel Olsen tickets for Manchester. But since they're confirmed (!) For EOTR looks like I'll have to go to the rumoured Palladium show
lessthanwill1
Also reminder that you have until before the EOTR announcement (so before 9am tomorrow i'm assuming) to post your 10 acts if there was anyone that still wanted to do it. Callum_96
There is a lot there I was hoping for this, especially Girl Band!
lessthanwill1
That is a very strong line up. So is it Pixies, King Krule, Big Thief and Angel Olsen all as headliners with one of them being on the Thursday? Not having Bright Eyes as headliners is surprising! Richard Dawson and Girl Band as well...probably makes them unlikely at GM as they'll probably be quite high up on the bill. Really hope Vanishing Twin are at both. OhAye
How many crossovers were there last year? Stella Donnelly Pigs x7 The Beths Squid Any more? It's never anyone majorly high up the bill.
lessthanwill1
Poster for reference below. Definitely a great first announcement for EOTR. Really like how they’ve given 3 acts their first UK headline show - especially Big Thief and Angel Olsen. Gutted that AO won’t be at GM but good to see her finally headlining. 4 of the top acts played GM last year so hard to be too disappointed. That does leave GM with some great acts that they’ve hopefully booked: Caribou, Bikini Kill, Weyes Blood etc. Edited January 21, 2020 by lessthanwill1
Oceansky
😭 It's pretty great innit? Hoping for lots of crossover. Bit greedy if you ask me... Can't wait for the greenman lineup now.
Happyboypricey
The mirror clue was spot on. Both Bright Eyes AND Angel Olsen! A fair bit of crossover with last year's GM (Big Thief, Aldous, Whitney, Comet, Squid, Black Country...). I'd have loved Angel Olsen and Little Simz at GM this year. Huge fan of Pixies and Bright Eyes but really excited to see what we've got in store next week!
Happyboypricey
Any revised headliner predictions?
Dancers Stand Very Still
I'd suggest Tiña might be another for GM. I had the good fortune to bump into Dan Carey the other night and it seems they're recording an album with Speedy Wunderground this/next week. Most of their acts tend to play at least one of GM/EotR. SweepingTheNation
Strange thing about Pixies at EOTR is they're in Europe on GM weekend, playing Cabaret Vert (has anyone mentioned Badbadnotgood? Because they're there too) I'd guess they're sticking around for Reading/Leeds. Edited January 21, 2020 by SweepingTheNation
