Don't know how about "defined rock music", but Interpol is my second guess after The Strokes.

Depends what they mean by defined... Its a quote from one fan, so is that fan into pop punk, indie, emo, heavy rock.... Im 30 and strokes defined nothing for me and I could name 1 song... While I could name many for songs from bands around that time.. Saying all this, it's probably strokes

Killers and Strokes together would be cool in fairness. Similar to a suggestion I made in the R&L thread that it would be pretty cool to have AM/Strokes together in response to some of the speculation there.

Though one or the other wouldn't be a surprise.

Taylor, The Killers, Billie/TOP, Strokes or MCR (+co head) would be strong.
