I have been disappointed too much lately about apparent Sziget clues. Will see. I don't even know if beer cheers meant to be a clue. It is a weird phrase tho. But it can also refer to something else. So they can both announe a rock band AND a new beer sponsorship? They are switching beer sponsor right? What would be the best way? Name a stage based on the new sponsorship? I don't necessarily mean the new main stage but they could announce a new Revolut stage but with a beer sponsor and some upgrade?

Likewise. I don’t see why they’d hint at some rock music being announced on the instagram channel if they weren’t announcing new names

I think you're right, mate... at least while the festival atendees seem content with the wishy-washy line-ups we're seeing lately. Maybe something will give and ticket sales will start to dry up if they keep underdelivering. I see so many complaints about the likes of Leeds and Reading, Nos Alive these days, I woder how long line-ups can continue like this before people stop going in favour of smaller events. After all, the main reason we go to these large-scale, corporate affairs is the line-ups and possibility of seeing iconic acts. I know that I for one will stop going to large festivals if the line-ups continue to go in the direction they have been doing... -
Yeah that's definitely a good way of looking at it. I used to run a local events company and I know first hand how difficult balance to measure hype levels, roll things out in good time and manage expectations of names coming and it is a really fine line before expectation and hype becomes frustration. As you say, Live Nation won't be bothered too much about the individual festivals but the punters attending will be. The end of January is an absolutely crucial time for big commitments to things like festivals. People come off the back of a long January and are (typically) looking for some sort of enjoyment, I think it's often the most popular time for people to book holidays, commit to tickets etc. I think they probably need an announcement next week or people definitely begin looking elsewhere. I'm surprised (if they're still trying to iron things out with some potentially bigger names) why they haven't just committed to 8-10 medium to smaller names just to tide people over for now.
