Anyone have any typos on the names on the tickets?  I am trying to figure if I typoed the Girlfriends name in when I filled in the contact info form or if somehow someone else did.  Id be worried some jobsworth would say it didn't match id exactly or something stupid.

Also what's this about a new gate for boutique camping?  The map on the site is the same as 2019s?

I have someone elses forename on my admission ticket but my name on the campervan ticket. Normally I'd say it doesnt matter, but if they're checking covid passes match with the ticket holder.....

All speculation until they release their covid plan but the name details taken were described as for "contact tracing" purposes and the names are now on tickets.  That they at least wanted the bits in place if they needed for some sort of check seems likely.  If it has some human elements I think small discrepancies will be allowed through.  If it is all going into a machine that needs everything to match exactly then there could be pain (I'd doubt this would be the case because there will be all sorts of messing with recently married people, people with dead names, typos etc).

I'd be worried about the name difference thing, purely because I've experienced End of the Road's admissions/security systems and found it to be weirdly over zealous.

A few years back I lost my wristband while inside the festival and went to the box office to get it replaced. I had my ticket print out with me, showed them my email confirming my purchase, proved my identity to them. The box office team were lovely but they had to radio their bosses to find out what to do. From that point on I was treated more or less like a criminal, the assumption being that I was there illicitly. Their response was to pass me on to site security who escorted me to my tent so I could pack up and leave the site. Fortunately as I decamped I found my wristband which I'd either removed in my sleep or had somehow slipped off while I slept, and I got to stay but man it was a horrible experience and tainted my feelings about a festival I love.

Just saying, don't rely on common sense or good nature or even solid evidence winning out with these people. They have strict guidelines and, in my experience at least, prefer to assume you're up to no good and deal with you under that assumption. I would get it sorted beforehand.

Wow 😮. That story makes me very uncomfortable. Security for any event/border makes me feel sick, given the power they have over people (not the people working it, but the premise/power).

What's their rationale there?! There must be plenty of cases each year of wristbands falling off or breaking. They're just bits of fabric, after all. Surely having the evidence you did would be ample, even overkill!

I'm going to speculate that 'Packs' might be added. For those who don't know they are from Canada and have recently announced a one off London date on 14th September (Sebright Arms). Seems a long and expensive way to travel for a one off gig at a tiny venue.

More than a week later with no announced dates in between, though?

It is complete speculation on my part. They are very much an EOTR type booking, I can't understand how they could fund a trip to the EU for a small one off show unless they had a festival booking to fund it?

Speaking of discrepancies in bookings,  I previously mentioned that Skullcrusher had cancelled the Birmingham gig due to the pandemic and thus expecting rest of the tour to be cancelled, yet I haven't had notification that the London date has been cancelled. I'm wondering then if Skullcrusher are still playing at EOTR and the Birmingham date was cancelled due to other reasons (poor ticket sales?).

Finally, Julianna Barwick was previously on eotr line up then culled with other transatlantic artists who couldn't make it. However her EU tour which include dates either side of EOTR weekend is still listed as going ahead?

Just checking and both Barwick's dates around that weekend and Skullcrusher at the Lexington are still selling tickets. I'm tempted to wonder if both are leaving it as long as possible before making a final decision, but obviously that doesn't explain why she was taken off the bill unless she told them she wouldn't be available before circumstances changed.

There is the other weird discrepancy mentioned a while ago, which is Richard Hawley was due to play 2020, wasn't on either 2021 bill but is playing Moseley that weekend...

Nowt to do with EOTR but just back from Kate Rusby's Underneath The Stars near Barnsley (actually a village as posh as that one near Larmer with the expensive pub).

Only went as Mrs KYTV likes Kate's Christmas show and it's just up the road from us in Sheffield. Run as a "socially distanced event" with reduced attendance (c.2,500 I guess), Test & Trace info, suggestion that you take a lateral flow test and plenty of space for you to pitch your fold-up seat and sit there all day (think back of the garden).

All very EOTR-lite for folkies, in a good way, with a dozen food stalls just below EOTR standard but well priced. Real ale £4 a pint.

Only one stage (Woods size), which encouraged you to sit there and shut up (not much nattering). Two large screens by the side of the stage and excellent sound.

BUT 3 artists pulled out late for "medical reasons", including Robert Plant's new Saving Grace and (most disappointingly for me) Lanterns on the Lake. Eddi Reader and Martyn Joseph the musical highlights, and enjoyed Mark Radcliffe's Peel memories.

Enjoyed it, till the rain and cold got too much for Mrs KYTV, but the £147 makes EOTR seem a bargain.

I agree re leaving it until the last minute, but it doesn't add up with Barwick, she was definitely on the original line up, pulled from the revised line up, yet her shows either side of eotr are still scheduled to take place?! Why pull out of eotr in that case?!

Sounds a bit similar to Timber festival that I went to a few weeks back. Snapped Ankles who were the main headliner pulled out due to covid. Disappointingly hardly anyone attending knew they had pulled out until very last minute,  Snapped Ankles made no reference to not playing on any of their own social media from what I saw, while the festival organisers only announced it via an Instagram live story.

£3.50 a pint at Timber so not all was lost!

The only thing I can think of, and it might be a stretch, is that the other shows are her own shows, not festivals, and she might feel that it's easier to socially distance/stay safe when you're not mixing with lots of other artists, using shared facilities etc.
