Where do you get that idea from given that most reports are saying it will peak in three months, not weeks.

I have a bro-in-law who is an NHS respiratory nurse....he's also said peak in 2 weeks time.  Only time will tell.

Because they locked everyone in their homes. Nowhere else able to do that.

China's intervention was considerably more extreme than what we might see here.

Which means our case numbers here and across Europe are likely to be far worse than what we saw in china.

Do I need to post the wise words from Oddball again?

Have faith people, Glastonbury is going to happen.

All those crossing in to Greece haven't been checked.... Obviously..... But that could be a bad thing.. We'll have to wait.. Panic breeds panic.

I can't help but think it's going to be worse in three weeks time. Maybe the thinking/hope behind it is that they'll be able to identify a peak and plan from there?

Hopefully! I would definitely feel more reassured if they were going to decide late April/May time

I wonder if any decision would be made prior to the resale? The three week comment pretty much coincides with that timeframe. I imagine it'd be a point of no return decision and certainly less of a financial hit, before much of the site preparation commences.

Be interesting to see responses from festivals lined up in May. Love Saves The Day, We Love Fstvl, Bearded Theory, etc.

All the containment in the country, and all it takes is for an infected illegal immigrant to come by boat and the whole process restarts

Horrible but true

This is a really weird post but my dad was actually really ill in January with the exact symptoms of the coronavirus, however at the time he just thought it was the flu however he said it was way worse than any kind of flu he's ever experienced before.

It would be interesting to see if he could get tested to see if he has had the virus, as that would be a massive tell that the virus was circulating way before it was in the news and that cases could potentially be far higher/worse than what's been recorded. Interestingly neither my mum or I caught it from him though (whatever the virus was).

Right, because there's no chance of a fully legal traveller to make it through an error in the screening process?

Maybe not find another shitty stick to beat people with eh?

One thing that might benefit the festival  is if it gets to a point where It can’t be contained anymore, the ideal time to get it would be summer when the other illness are at their  lowest point, instead of stalling it into next winter when there could be thousands more infected, plus other diseases out there, Also with people attending from all over the UK, if they fall ill and require hospital treatment, then it ain’t just one hospital dealing with it, it will be spread about the UK, all this only works if the disease, can’t be caught again. I’ve only read one story of someone getting it again.

If its gets widespread it could overwhelm resources to cope. In that event there's no choice but to cancel.

Funny you should say that. The same thing happened to me. I had to take a couple of days off work which is almost unheard of. Left me with a really bad cough and shortness of breath. Again, no-one else in my house came down with it so I doubt whether it was Coronavirus.

Yes my dad had shortness of breath, raised pulse and a really bad fever. He said it was way worse than the flu. He still has a really bad cough since having it as well.
