I preferred Pinrut. He seemed an upright kinda guy.

I noticed 'Pinrut' too but did question my own sanity. Mind you that's par for the course. So, thank you for helping me 'know' I'm right! LMFAO!

Welcome back Sawdusty surfer (man who sports lit fire within a saucepan on his head at Glastonbury).

Go on Sawdusty, show the photo for all the ladies. And I very much include myself in that statement!  lol

So good news, of sorts... @guypjfreak

My youngest daughter has started school due to a set of circumstances beyond our control! She went in for her first full day today and absolutely loved it.

We are very lucky as the specialist setting let her start early - her place wasn't due to commence until September! She has access to loads of specialist provision now, I think she is going to have a great time.

Just shows, we've got to keep on going and fighting the fight.

Yeah, but I didn't want to come on too strong!*

* - I do try to tag a name from time to time. There have been times when it has worked and even more times when it hasn't. So, I'd kind of got frustrated with that and given up. What with that and Sawdusty's lack of response (he doesn't ring, he doesn't write!) I'm being driven mad at this end!

Excellent news! Hope she does love it and it suits her long term.

Can't wait

I'm really made up for you and your daughter.... Can't wait to have a pint with you old son

Two years ago today, someone very dear to me took their own life. People mourn in weird ways, and one of the ways I did that was by not cutting my hair - those that have seen me will know i've got pretty long hair.  However, I decided to not let that grief go to waste, and to channel it into something good. So today I finally got my haircut and am donating it to the Little Princess Trust! It's a charity that makes real hair wigs for kids that have lost their hair from like chemotherapy and other conditions

From someone who lost their best friend to Cancer 2 years ago this made me cry!! The difference you will have made to someone out there will be more than you can ever imagine!!
Be proud of yourself as I am sure the person will have been of you that inspired you to do this!’ A lovely thing to do! 👍💜

I lost a mate who died way too soon. Mind you, the last time that I saw him alive I had just walked into a posh'ish pub not knowing he was there. And there I saw him. He was (in this posh posh'ish, busy pub, which has full coverage cctv) snorting a line of coke off the table that he was sitting at. Not a fucking care in the world that that is not the done thing. He was some character.

I don't know about 'God' or the 'devil', or heaven and hell, or whatever other religions (I was brought up in the Roman Catholic faith. Not very well, as it turns out!) indicate that their faith says about one's soul or being after death. However, I have this feeling within that I will see Vince (my mate) again. So, it's not that I believe in any religion. I just have a feeling, is all.*

I also have rather recently been thinking about my own demise. Unfortunately I feel (and have done for a short while) that I am going to die, and much sooner rather than later. I am ferociously self indulgent, and that can't go on forever. So, my head's all mixed up on death itself, right now.

And the 'turmoil' of all that emotion and feeling, is often (but not always) calmed by reading this;

THE TRAIN OF LIFE

“At birth, we board the train and meet our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side.

As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life.

However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum.

Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don’t realise they vacated their seats.

This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.

Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.

So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are.

It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.
I wish you all a joyful journey.”  Unknown

PS - if I was going to choose a religion it would be Caodaism.

Went for one of my periodic day off from the world walks last week. Day off work, loaded the pack up (can't have too many sandwiches or cups of tea) and buggered off into the South Downs for the day.  Started walking just after 7am and got back just before 7pm, covered about 50km / 30 miles. Phone switched off apart from photos and emergency calls from Mrs Q, proper brain clear out. Few blisters, but well worth it. Feeds the soul I tell you.

Starting Point 7am

Perfect spot for lunch and a brew, site of an Iron Age hill fort overlooking Chichester

Just coming back to the starting point 12 hours later, took it a bit early as I wanted to catch the moon in the river.
